Wolfowitz and Fiorina Seen as Candidates to Head World Bank
By ELIZABETH BECKER

Published: March 1, 2005

ASHINGTON, March 1 - Paul D. Wolfowitz, the deputy secretary of defense, is under serious consideration to become the next president of the World Bank, according to an official in the Bush administration.

Another candidate to emerge is Carleton S. Fiorina, the former chief executive of Hewlett-Packard who was asked to resign two weeks ago, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Robert B. Zoellick, until last week the United States trade representative, had been the White House's candidate to replace James D. Wolfensohn, the current bank president, who completes his second five-year term in May.

5. I think they just need a 'career' after this Bush fiasco implodes. Neocons
are avoud UN haters. Ahhhhhhh I get it. All the institution that interfere with corporations like help for refugees, stopping wars, transferring wealth, ensuring democracy, ensuring reproductive health & choice, they all got to go. But the multilateral organizations that enable the corporation like WTO, & World Bank - wow, they get to stay.

I get it.
