GOP to call Dem leaders Deanocrats, ask them to defend themselves.
I am so about to crack up over this. From Berman at The Nation.

http://www.thenation.com/blogs/outrage?bid=13&pid=2220

** "Rep. Tom Reynolds, chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, detailed his party's strategy for attacking DNC chair Howard Dean in a fundraising pitch to supporters this week. "The leadership of the other party are no longer Democrats," Reynolds wrote. "They are 'Deanocrats.' And that's what I'm going to start calling them. And you should too...Make them say publicly they are not 'Deanocrats.' If they won't, then you know where they stand, and that they don't deserve to be in office." Reynolds & Co fit a slightly different, retro moniker: Plutocrats."

2. This is SO going to backfire
Even more than "Blueneck" did in Freeperville. With Dean in the chairman's seat, people will take pride in being "Deanocrats".

21. This is nothing new.
First there was the disgusting display at their convention...

Then there was these stupid halloween getups - an attempt to ridicule Kerry for duck hunting

And then the tacky GOP display at the SOTU to gloat over the sham election they staged in Iraq...

Infantile gestures are par for the course with this people. Expressing outrage over it hasn't done a bit of good. You expect OUR MEDIA to treat this in a grown-up fashion?

Pshaw. Best to embrace our man, and embrace the name - that will defuse it quicker than anything.

27. Dean intends to reframe the name DEMOCRAT. It does him no good if people
are making the party about HIM and not about the issues.

Nicknames are forms of dismissal for your serious intentions.

Everyone using Deaniac or Deanocrat should drop it and become as damned serious as Dean and others in the Democratic party looking to preserve democracy and defeat the Republican agenda.

If the name-calling didn't work in focus groups, the Republicans wouldn't be using it. Treat their approach as childishness.

30. We ARE deadly serious. I posted this to call attention to their BS.
I resent your implication that we are not serious Democrats. I resent it a lot. I posted this because the other side is so damned stupid, and it is just amazing to me that Kerry did not stand up to them.

I am sorry, but he did not. Over and over, he did not. Do not lecture on the Deaniac stuff.

When a party was so obviously out of touch and doing ignorant things, and when Bush was so vulnerable.....our side wimped out.

Do not lecture me on Deaniacs. We did not wimp out. Now there is at least a place at the table for all of us in the party... Dean will at least try to do that. He may not succeed at all, but he will give it a hell of try. I am on board with the DNC, donating and working locally, but sticking like glue to DFA.

I have seen what this party did, and many of us are fully prepared again for the Social Security wimp-out, and other things as well.

38. What the heck are YOU talking about? I replied to another poster who
wanted to promote the use of the name Deanocrat. That was NOT your post.

What's with the chip on the shoulder and gratuitous slam at Kerry? Either you read my posts STRAIGHT as written the way I read yours, or don't bother. The exaggerated sensitivity is unhelpful.

31. the GOP is stupid
they'll waste all their time with childish games attacking Dean (who the general public doesn't have much reason to care about) and meanwhile Dean will attack the issues.

I love having Dean as chair, and at just the perfect time too: The GOP, firmly in power but running out of ideas, running out of leadership, and with numerous party divisions over Iraq and numerous other Bush policies having been quick-rigged with duct tape for the sole purpose of the last election, I honestly think the GOP could very well explode in the next three years. So I say let 'em call us all the childish names they want. :)

Why did they fund a male HO to throw softballs during WH press conferences?

Why do they engage in the spread of deceptive propaganda to manipulate people into handing over their lives, their money and their country to a bunch of greedy bastards?

Why do they so loathe real American values and real Americans that they are willing to destroy both?

EWWW! They make me so damn mad!!!! :argh:

"And that's what I'm going to start calling them. And you should too... Make them say publicly they are not 'Bushbots.' If they won't, then you know where they stand, and that they don't deserve to be in office."

Maybe there's a better example... "DickHeads" for Cheney? "Rovicans" for Rove-followers? "Newters" for Gingrich disciples?

Neenie, neenie. Just respond the same way and let them defend Delay. Should be fun.

Very few outside of RW circles hate Dean as much as they think. Dems do not even if they didn't initially support him. He has a reputation as an honest politician and one who thinks.

Go after Delay. The best defense is a good offense.
