S. Korea: North May Not Have Nukes
South Korea's point man on the North cautioned Monday that it would be premature to declare North Korea a nuclear power despite its claim to having atomic weapons.

Unification Minister Chung Dong-young noted North Korea has yet to conduct a nuclear test, unlike other nuclear powers such as India and Pakistan.

"I believe it is early for us to call the North a nuclear state," when it has not been independently confirmed, Chung said in a speech to parliament. South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-Moon, who met Monday with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, also said the North may be bluffing.

1. Time Out...We Need A Ruling
First, who are the judges?

Next...wouldn't being called "Nuclear" involve the actual detonation of a nuclear device? No one called India & Pakistan nuclear threats or powers until they tested theirs? Anyone know of any North Korean test? From a truly reliable source?

2. I wouldn't double dutch dare them if I were South Korea.
Then again maybe South Korea is getting its 'urgent action to speak' from the White House. I can see it now ... NK proves it has a bomb by blowing something up (perhaps at home, in SK, or in the Ocean) and then Rumsfield has all the 'assumptions' he needs to send one to North Korea.

If this carrot and stick psychological warfare is the succeed - they have to drop the big one don't they?

Whatever was wrong with bribing the asshole not to build the bloody thing?
