I think true conservatives are about to take the gloves off and go to war with the the White House over defecit issues.

What the next few months is going to show is just how inept this president is at leadership by consensus. He will be shown by his own party as incapble of selling his vision without lying to support it.

I am not one prone to hyperbole when it comes to fanatical predictions.. But I honestly think there is an honest to god chanve at taking back the House.

So long as our Chief spokesperson is Howard Dean and not Pelosi.

1. some conservatives hated that Mediacre bill already
remember, it LOST in the House. It only "passed" because the republican leadership CHEATED by holding the vote open, and bribing and threatening at least one Congressman.

2. yeah, but they love the big checks
they are receiving from Big Pharma as campaign "contributions" as payback for their largesse.

4. and threatening to fire the actuary
if he reported the actual cost to Congress.

Lots of dirty dealings with this "crowning achievment" of Bush's.

5. I can't remember when it wasn't that way.
Seems like every time Congress passes a spending bill or new entitlement it ends up costing more than they thought. I'm in my mid 40's and I can't remember when the pols in DC ever got the cost right.

6. This wasnt just a case of costs creeping up later
this was blatant lying about the costs to congress so they would approve the bill
