McAuliffe in bed with Providian!

I was totally revolted this week to receive a solicitation from Providian for a "Democratic Party Visa Platinum" card, signed by that "New Democrat" useless corporate mouthpiece and loser of elections, Terry McAuliffe. Supposedly Providian would rebate 1% of purchases to the Democratic Party, paid, I suppose, out of the unconsicionable 16.99% interest being charged on unpaid balances.

I'll support the Democratic candidates I wish to support, thank you. If Howard Dean becomes Party chair, I might consider donating to the national party, which I haven't done since the corporate slimeball "New Dems" took over.

Why would the Party try to help Providian keep Democrats in debt? We need to get Howard in office and stop this crap NOW.

I have heard nothing but horror stories about their stupid fees, claims of not getting payments on time (even though mailed 3 weeks in advance), and charging you to call them to talk about your account.

Figures McAwful would be bound up with these crooks.

3. Providian Gives Lots To The GOOP

Any mail from McAuliffe immediately gets the circular file here. He should have resigned on 11/3 and take responsibility for a lot of the party's failures during the election (not working hard enough to help state and local parties).

My parents had Providian stock until we did some due diligence and saw how much money they pump to politicians...especially Repugnicans. We sold the stock.

This is one of the worst predators of young people...they'll gladly send an 18 year old a credit card with a $2,500 credit line...say it's "0% interest" or low interest, and these kids don't read the fine print. In no time, they've maxed out and are stuck paying the 18% interest. IIRC, they've been fined several times for deceptive advertising and practices in this regard. Still, they're passing off interest rates that reflect the highest rates of the early 80's...and have the politicians well paid.

I use American Express...a very satisfied customer.

6. Providian stinks!!

They input the wrong account number for a phone payment, then had the nerve to charge me a bounced check fee and a late fee because of it! You could see that they had simply doubled one of the digits ... what a scam.
