insane president*? i know raygun was probably already in the initial stages of alzheimers already, but this guy is truly psychopathic. did the founding fathers provide for what to do if a president* goes loco? i know a visit by * with a certified board of shrinks would insist he be locked up. i mean, really. he is obviously WAY too out there to be in charge of the whole mess. i'm serious. unfortunately.

Yes, there is a provision for that. It's in the 25th Amendment.

"Section 4:

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President."

If Cheney and a majority of the Cabinet agree that Junior is unable to discharge the duties of his office due to insanity, Cheney would become President.
