"Limbaugh Seeks Return of Medical Records"
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Rush Limbaugh asked the Florida Supreme Court on Thursday to return his medical records to his doctors and permanently keep them from prosecutors investigating his use of painkillers.

The conservative radio commentator alleges that his privacy was violated when the records were seized in 2003 and has fought to keep them sealed. Lower courts have sided with prosecutors, who are investigating whether Limbaugh illegally visited several doctors to receive duplicate prescriptions.

Limbaugh wants the state Supreme Court to decide that patients should be notified before their medical records are seized or inspected.

"The state has acknowledged that as a matter of strategy it made no good faith effort to comply with these requirements," Limbaugh's attorney, Roy Black, said in a statement.

1. Substitute Limbaugh's name with anyone else....
And you would agree that he is right on this. I think what happened is wrong, and just because it's Limbaugh, people don't see that.

The government seizing your personal medical records is a huge invasion of privacy, and even the ACLU agrees with Limbaugh on this issue.

3. I agree
He's a scumbag, but this is one rare moment where "Rush is right". (Anyone remember those "Rush is right" bumperstickers? :eyes:)

4. He may be right, but he has to shoulder part of the blame
for this whole Republican Revolution and the things it is doing in the name of a War On Drugs. Rush seems to want this kind of society, and while I agree with you, I can't help but feel a little schaedenfreude when it all turns around to bite him in his pilonidal cyst.

6. Don't disagree with that at all...
and as an aside, isn't schaedenfreude a great word?

But still, with all the other fascist powers the government has that a citizen cannot redress, it is nice to see Limbaugh team up with one of his mortal enemies (ACLU) to try and dee the right thing is done.

It does drip with irony, though. Or schadenfreude, if you will. :-)

2. Err, isn't this the same guy who says there IS no "right" to privacy???
It's certainly what he says when appealing to the fundamentalist wackos about abortion!

A GLACIER would outrun the speed which this "investigation" is moving!

Why don't they just come out and say, "With Jeb Bush as Governer, and as Rush is one of the leading Republican spokesmen, we're dropping this case now."

...now if only Rush was a Democrat!

5. Yeah, if it'd been Al Franken instead of the Rushster,
is there any doubt he would be in a cell next to Tommy Chong already?
