Poll question: Four more years. Has the reality set in for you yet?
Edited on Thu Jan-06-05 08:36 PM by leftyandproud
only ONE out of 100 senators had the courage to stand up today. Despite lots of grandiose speeches, only ONE (politically safe) Senator objected to the certification, and less than 10% of our people in congress objected, mostly members of the black caucus, who are also politically safe.

The GOP now owns the government...the media...the business world...everything.

Has reality set in for you yet?

2. Yes, reality has set in, but that doesn't mean I will give up.
I hate what this country is becoming. I don't mind being the "outcast", at least that's what I feel like. I refuse to be like them!

4. Oh God!
Yesyesyesyesye...........!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh God! It's just that I hate to be reminded... yet it happens every goddam day, by the hour, every time I read the fucking news!

The latest news on Schwarzenegger is so godalmighty depressing that it's eating me up inside. I mean, California is supposed to be a beacon of HOPE! They did right by the president, but they seem to turn to jelly whenever the gropernator gets on tv and asks them to vote for something totally idiotic and against their own interests. Jesus H. Kreist!

9. I knew that bush would NOT leave the white house
so the hacking of the vote is no surprise.

I had expected Kerry to win (he did) and then bush simply not leaving the white house.

bushie's aim has been to show up his daddy -- bushie junior was elected as Gov. of Texas -- where his daddy failed. And now bushie has his second "term" in the white house -- where his daddy failed.

This is a sick fuck family -- and they are trying to make the whole world as sick as they are.

Sometimes being a Cassandra is a pain in the ass.

10. Certainly ....

Reality set in for me about, oh, November 9th. (Gave myself a week to dream.)

I'm not sure -- truly -- why people are surprised on any level at what took place today.

15. The reality
is that the United States is a now a one-party state.
But like all one-party rightist governments (Mussolini, Suharto, Franco, Pinochet, Papadopolous, Salazar) it will fail miserably.

16. Yes it has, so much so
I'm believing more every day that I won't be here next year at this time.

I may be alive somewhere, I may even be where I'm sitting now, but, it's so easy to look to a future of despair. When my income is cut off I have'nt got idea one how we'll stay alive.

I firmly believe out tears and suffering is what feeds this hate machine, and eventually it will run out of victims and consume itself, but I don't see myself living as I do now.

17. Reality has set in, but..
I still don't think I can face how long these four years could be. I'm optimistic that people will stand up - late, but better late than never.
