Global Peace Vigil starts today - Traditional Native Elders

This is a call for Global Four Directions Prayer for Peace, a 24 hour effort to end the war and global violence. We are asking all the leaders and peacemakers to join us in this effort.

The start date will be 12 noon December 31, starting in the Eastern time zones, and continuing through January 1.
 
This activation comes as a request from some of the Four Directions Elders and Medicine People as communicated to Grace Smith Yellow Hammer. We are requesting spiritual leaders all over the globe to call their people together in their sacred spaces so that all people, all colors, all directions are included in this effort.
 
With all the devastation of war and escalation of terror and environmental harm on the planet, it is obvious why we need to come together at this time.
 
For those of you who will understand this, there was recently a quarter moon in the morning with two stars within the crescent. This along with the recent Venus alignment, is a potent call for an activation because it signifies both danger and opportunity.
 
We hope you will be inspired to join us in this call. We are simply asking all people of all races, all faiths, all traditions to pray for peace and healing in whatever way is appropriate during this time and to remember that as we link with one heart, one mind, one intention we can heal the world one step at a time.

and for those who don't think you can make a difference, this is from a stellascope (newsletter) I sent out shortly after 9/11. . .

"During World War II, a psychic named Tudor Pole was an adviser to Winston Churchill. Tudor suggested to Churchill that he urge the British people to hold Britain in their thoughts every evening at 9:00 P.M. for one minute. This became known as the "silent minute." Whether this collective effort helped protect Britain from invasion will never be known. All we know is that the island was never conquered. And incidentally, after the war, papers were found in Nazi records noting that Britain had a "secret weapon" connected to Big Ben, but they were never able to identify the nature of that weapon."

It was strange to reread that last paragraph and recognize how we've regressed so far so fast from "posturing" into two seemingly intractable conflicts. So I decided to include it along with the Big Ben story just for the heck of it.

6. The Sun approaches its zenith

and the vigil begins.

In respect and solidarity, I smudge myself and the room, then light a white candle to hold and radiate my intention.

8. The low-hanging Winter Sun sets now in the West Direction

and so we may face the West Way to see into the twilight and the great starry darkness beyond.

Toward the West Direction our intentions are remembered until the depths of Midnight when the Direction turns North toward the land of the tall pine trees, the rainbow crystal auroras, the elders who have passed from our lives, and also the cold, hard wind that blows all dust and cobwebs from the mind.

In the morning at sunrise the Direction will turn East to the place of the eagles and the red tails and the rising Sun, that our vision may be clear. The Circle ends at noon again on Jan. 1, with the Direction going South again to complete the Hoop. The South is a place of children, for the children remind us always of the power of innocence.

And thus a final Whirling Rainbow kick to this thread on behalf of all our ancestors and elders of all colors and all traditions, and especially on behalf of the next seven generations of our children who will be born on this land. May we bequeath it to them in beauty.
