Million4Roe Petition and Pics of Where Abortion is Headed
http://www.million4roe.com/

With the promotion of anti-choice candidates by the Democrats and Bush poised to name more anti-choicers to the Supreme Court, we are being attacked on all fronts.

Tell your representatives, we WON'T go back to back alley abortions.

1. Thanks for the link!
I'll support Feminist Majority!

I'm a 46-year-old mom, and I remember when illegal abortions were common and dangerous. I remember when several individuals who were close to me had to have procedures in secret, and there was no guarantee of adequate medical follow-up.

In one case, the woman was the girlfriend of a prominent Rethuglican and oil man in the area, and got her backroom abortion as he was publicly denouncing both women's rights and legal abortion. What an irony!

No going back! EVERY CHILD A WANTED CHILD!!!!

2. Pro-life advocates claim that human life begins with conception...
...so why not demand life insurance policies on the newly fertilized egg, the embryo or the fetus. Thus, God forbid, should or whenever a miscarriage or still-born or any other loss of the unborn child occurs, collect on the policy. Of course, there is no insurance company that will issue life insurance for an unborn child, but wouldn't that just force the debate as to when a human life actually does begin?

The Supreme Court would have to give a ruling one way or another, that human life either begins at birth or before birth and if before birth exactly when. If they say at birth, then the main argument by pro-lifers that abortion does constitute the taking of a human life becomes mute. The fetus would not be a human being until it is actually born. If they say that life begins before birth then the argument logically goes right down to conception went the egg is fertilized. The neo-cons would get hit right in the pocket book as millions of consumers will begin buying huge life insurance policies on the unborn and newly conceived eggs. Should these pregnancies fail to go full-term and the embryo either dies or the fetus is still born, the mothers stand to collect big time.

The whole thing is absurd I know, but the pro-lifers have really brought the issue to this ridiculous conclusion.

3. you make a very good point ... these people are "pro-life" only when
it suits them -- apparently doesn't bother them to not apply the notion to death row, war, or other moral moments --
