Michael Moore came to our party.

On election night we rented out the prime location for our party. Michael Moore and his lovely wife, Kathleen Glynn, live in the area. I was fortunate enough to enjoy lunch with Kathleen several weeks ago and she gave me $1,000 toward our fund to establish permanent HQ. They have been very good friends to us and the best part was that they came to our party on election night.

When they first arrived (BTW we had several hours advance notice) MM made a little speech. He had the folks of the Slacker Tour with him. I hadn't met MM before and his wife was good enough to introduce me. I told him that we had a signed-by-him Bowling for Columbine poster as a silent auction item at our Truman Dinner last year. As luck would have it he won Best Film at Cannes just that day and we got $725 for it (of course we had had it matted and framed). He thought that was cool.

At least we were lucky enough to have one nice bright spot in our little burg that night.
