Boycott Requests are symptomatic
of a larger problem -- I think it would be a better idea to focus on spending money where it will do good, rather than NOT spending money -- we need to find a positive, rather than a negative approach to this whole process

That does not mean to spend money at RW businesses, but it means to suggest where TO spend money, not where NOT TO spend money -- i.e. buy christmas presents at Costco, or home improvement materials at Lowe's, etc.

1. Agreed. Don't just boycott - "Buy-cott" - shop at businesses that
are "blue-friendly"

A good place to start is Co-op America's website:
www.coopamerica.org

then click on Green Pages Online. This site lists business in ALL the states and abroad that are "liberal/progressive"-friendly.

If you become a member, you can also get the paper catalog version of the Green Pages Directory.

2. I want to agree with you but can't - sorry
If the economy does well during Bush's term (and Costco can make it do well just as much as Wal-Mart) then the probability of having an election close enough to be stolen will be too high next time.

Four more years, and then four more years and its all over (hell it's almost all over now). The courts will be stacked with judges determined to roll back 70 years of progress.

Study the way FDR packed the courts for 16 years. Later when Repugs gained the legislative and executive upper hand business started having Repugs pass legislation to roll back the progress. Judge after judge ruled the laws unconstitional.

For 50 years we moved forward because of the judges of FDR. It is too dangerous to risk. Nothing can be done to make Shrub do well in any way. Once the courts are stacked it's game over. It won't matter how many Dems and/or progressives get elected. Think 40 years of FDR, in reverse, all at the hands of Repug appoined judges.
