Democrats should appeal to its base and not to the Republicans!

If people want to cave some of the ideals of the Democratic party then just join the Republicans. It's easier that way!

The problem with the Democratic party is not because the country is turning right-wing but because of the fact that we don't fight enough and show support for the people who are getting really screwed by the system.

The Democrats need to be clear and consistent in the message and not send mixed signals like, "we are against gay marriage but we are for it". That's nonsense!

We as democrats MUST be against using the constitution to take away privileges from a group of Americans and if you don't like it vote for the other side next time!

We are democrats and we are going to fight for blacks so we can energize them and actually get the southern blacks to the polls and win some red states.

We need to show hispanics that we are on their side and show them that the right-wing creeps are the people who hate hispanics and are the real anti-immigrants. In Texas alone we can win elections if we appeal to the minorities instead of whites since almost half of Texas population consists of minorities.

We are democrats and we are going to fight to keep abortion legal. No surrender here!!!
The years with the fewest abortions since it was made legal were during the Clinton administration when the economy was thriving.
The years with the most cases of abortion are now while Bush is sending jobs overseas!!!

Democrats need to do what Republicans are doing: ENERGIZE THE BASE!

Let's not try to be the party of the well fed people otherwise we are going to be doomed again because the well fed and the moralist prefer to vote for the Devil then to vote for a democrat.

If the Democratic Party wants to win back some seats in Congress and some state houses in 2006 it has to preach the social gospel. We must articulate that we are for a fair and above all moral economy.

We have been playing defense to long. Supreme court confirmation hearings will be our time to shine. Our chance to show the country that they have been duped and that we will protect them. Our country is based on American Values not born-again-christian values.

4. I totally agree with your subject line

They have all the issues framed so that you are for children or killing babies. You are with Osama bin Laden or freedom. You are for higher taxes or small business. It's non-sense.

As for your text, I'm not sure we will be well served in the court of public opinion by opposing judges. You know bush will nominate a fundie minority and we will be racist if we oppose him. More framing! How did they get so good at framing and we can't put the most obvious frame on him - for the working man and middle class families or for fat cat corporate outsourcing polluters

5. Long term gains

We as democrats must make some decisions. I live in the south and come from the north. As opposed to most people, I have a great deal of experience with rural southerners. I used to sell cash registers to rural southerners and was very succesful.. They are good people but they are a lost cause as far as ever getting them to vote for the democratic party. This is going to be a 10 to 20 year movement but we need to reach out to the fiscal conservatives and social liberals of N.M., CO, Ariz, Nev., Ohio, and Fl. The Rocky mountain west conservatives are Goldwater type people and can be converted. We must tie the religious right to the current republican party and then move the dialog to "talibanize" them.
