Pat Tillman in Freeptown
Today is Pat Tillman's birthday and they have canonized him over in Freeperville. The tribute to Tillman has someone responding "You died for a worthy cause" No he didn't you friggin' idiot! He was shelled by his own troops, the guys who are supposed to be there to watch your back. Not blow your body to bloody gibs. Jebus, when are these people going to learn? Do they even believe the crap that they are spewing?

1. Pat Tillman was a patriot

...and a thinker. He read poetry and all the classics of literature. From what I know about him, I doubt he'd have had much use for chickenhawks like the ones that inhabit Freeperland since most have never read a book that wasn't written by Hannity or Coulter.

6. He got into bar fights?
I had always heard that he was a decent person - what's that all about?

13. A weak source, I'll admit
"When in high school, Sgt. Tillman beat up someone who had assaulted his friend and ended up serving 30 days in a juvenile-detention facility. He said he learned from his mistake and avoided further trouble."

Another source I read at the time of his death presented a much less flattering and innocent version of the story.

7. Who is Pat Tillman?
We have a furniture store owner here in town by that name, but I am sure they aren't referring to him. Who is he?
