Well, I'm probably running in '06, whose with me?
I'm going to be 24, a year shy of the house limit. But one needs to start small. I live in W. Michigan, a terribly Repub area in spots, but I think I can get some local small position. I won't know more until later.

This is the answer, though. It's not enough for us to campaign and sit in awe of our candidates, we must be the candidates. I have a lot of things I'd like to do with my life, and maybe I'll wait a few more years, but I know I have it in me to win.

I think we need to stand up, dust ourselves off (when you're ready, I'm not rushin' anyone) and start at the base. I'm willing to run, whose with me?

2. Yes, we need all the local positions we can get
ESPECIALLY POSITIONS THAT CONTROL THE VOTER ROLLS. That way we can ensure that we don't have Ohio 2004 or Florida 2000 ever again! Plus if you get one elected position, that gives you a foot in the door for another higher position.

4. Yes. We have to take over the boards of elections
We have to learn the electoral process inside and out. We have to OWN the electoral process.

3. I ran this time so I am going to run next time.
At least it will be an open seat although there goes the Youngest Person in the Country Label.

5. This is where it starts
All politics is local.

We must build in the neighborhoods, then the cities and towns, then the states and then the Nation.

6. Good for you. I am going to run for county Dem chair and get out there
and find some viable candidates for local office. We don't have a single Dem in any local office - not one. There wasn't a single local Dem on the ballot Tuesday.

7. Whereabouts in W. Michigan
I am in Traverse City and have allies that reach down some long ways on the west side of the mitten. Let me know and I will be glad to get you in touch with any like minded souls I may know in your vicinity.

Your attitude is refreshing and I am with you all the way. Now's no time to quit, we're just getting started.

Cheers--

Julie
