I don't see any state of the US doing well.

I see a little bump in the DC area with a bit of computer systems work. But overall I don't see where the money is going to. No big job postings in any area. Not even TX. I remember the Reagan build up in defense. Jobs a plenty. See no big bump anywhere.

A billon/week is a lot of moola to be spread around. Where exactly is it going? No big orders to Boeing. No big orders to textile. So where is it?

1. Good question
I don't know, it wouldn't seem like it would cost that much just to maintain the military force in Iraq, so I have no idea.

2. In the pockets of Cheney's pals
It certainly isn't going to help support the troops. And remember that this Administration wants to outsource more of the military's jobs to private firms....wonder if they'll send the work to India, like the GOP is doing with their fundraising telemarketers?

3. Have you checked Haliburton and Bechtels P/E ratios lately?
Maybe that's where it went.

4. SAIC is hiring.
http://www.saic.com/career/find.html

(I wouldn't have known about this war profiteering company if I weren't a DUer.)

And there are actually a lot more Now Hiring signs where I live for low-wage jobs with no benefits. A big Fry's Electronics just opened in Renton and every floor sales person I saw was a young male--just guessing I would say part-timers with no benefits.

Welcome to the Bush Profiteering/Wage Slave Economy.

5. Headed offshore
That money's all earmarked for smirk'n'dick's buddies' offshore accounts. We'll never see any evidence of it, but Halliburton, Brown & Root, and Bush's "blind trust" are already doing well, thank you.
