Poll question: Who Is Osama Campaigning For?
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 04:09 PM by indigobusiness
He has a nice tan, for a cave-dweller. But I can't figure out who he's helping here?

Vote!

1. I don't think he's campaigning for anyone . . .
I think he means what he said about it being our policies, not our leader that put us at the top of his hit list. A smart leader will read that correctly & realize that we need to change our policies of going into countries & stomping the shit out of them so we can steal their resources or using them to advance our 'need of the moment' & then shit all over them when they no longer advance those needs.

Bush will never figure that out.

5. I agree, but wasn't the implication
a chance for peace given a reasonable Commander in Chief...ipso facto NOT Bush.

9. Peace with bin Laden? Fuck that.

Little late for him to start playing at being a respectable leader.

We should stop messing with the Middle East, but we should still also still track down OBL and chop his head off.

16. Vote for Bush, then
He has that attitude. After another 4 years of innocents dying in a vain attempt to settle the score, maybe you will change your mind.

A chance at peace should be jumped at. This isn't a football game. But we ARE losing.

2. I don't think he cares
He doesn't like us. It's not going to matter to him much who we have for President.

6. I think he's mostly opposed to the cult of selfishness in America,
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 04:43 PM by indigobusiness
not so much the people, in general.

It isn't just OBL, it is the culture clash.

It seems ridiculous to spend the money and lives pursuing one man.

3. This'll be controversial, but I think he doesn't care...
...and just cares about the middle east being left alone.

4. I almost expected
a tiny clip saying, "I'm George Bush, and I endorse this fear mongering." But in truth, MoveOn.Org could put a quick commercial together: Bush: "dead or alive"; Bush: "I don't think about him much"; Bush at #3 debate: "Never said that! He's exxxxagggerrating!"

The truth is that Usama bin Laden is a serious man who has at very least the admiration of the Muslim world, and Bush is a clown who has their contempt The world becomes more dangerous ever hour Bush is in office. We need a new president, fast.

7. What you said...
You always seem to say what I'm thinking more wisely than I'm able.

I think he's campaigning for Kerry.

10. He's trying to help Bush.
OBL would have done nothing if Bush were in the lead. OBL needs Bush. Kerry's election will immediately reunite the United States with the rest of the world.

11. I tend to agree with that .....
The USA had some moderate Arab and Islamic friends before 2000. We have none at this point.

Usama bin Laden was on the margins of the Muslim world in 2000. Bush has made him more popular than anyone else could possibly have done. It is in his interest to have Bush elected. I resent that he has the ability to interfere with our election.

I think that in the next few days, people need to realize this is actually just the opposite of what the republicans would haveloved for an "October surprise." They wanted his head on a platter. But he's out there, and appears to be doing well. That's not anything that should count in Bush's favor.

15. Bush is a fantastic terrorist recruitment tool
and Osama is no dummy - he knows it.

He is the perfect symbol of american ignorance and arrogance - as long as Bush is in office being arrogant and ignorant terrorists will flock to Osama and others of his type. Look how many people in the US are working to get Bush out of office - people that have never been active in politics before. Terrorism is, unfortunately, just another version of political activism. It's a lot easier to motivate people against something than in favor of it.

If Bush is defeated, and starts to work hand in hand with the rest of the world, we are not quite as easy to hate and Osama has a harder time recruiting.
