Polls, Used to manipulate public opinion, not to measure it.
I have written a great deal about this. I have said over and over that the incredible amount of polling done over the past 4 years has been done to create the impression of support for Bush.

This DVD validates my claims.
Check out the free trailer.

Constructing Public Opinion - How Politicians and the Media Misrepresent the Public
http://www.tvnewslies.org/cart/view_product.php?product=CONB9ZUH10

In this insightful and accessible interview, Professor Justin Lewis demonstrates the way in which polling data are themselves used by the media to not just reflect what Americans think but instead to construct public opinion itself.

1. What's going to be interesting is seeing whether the poll
propagandists wind up with egg on their face even worse than last
time. But this is correct, a poll means nothing until you understand
the specific questions asked, how they were asked, and why they were
asked, and even then it may not mean much. They go and buy polls now
just like any other form of public relations advertising poop.

2. Exit polls
the last 2 elections were the first time exit polls were ever wrong. I say they were right and the results were wrong!

Don't know anything about this guy, but I found this earlier today looking for a ranking of the reliability of pollsters.
