If I hadn't, I hope for them to reverse themselves w/a letter sent asap, or at least hope that they feel remorse for their endorsement.

The San Diego Tribune is one such paper.

I will write to Tulsa World as well. Haven't written them yet. This letter is not for the letter's section but for an endorsement.

14. Some major newspapers in Maine I am not sure about:
Edited on Wed Oct-20-04 01:02 PM by babyreblin
Bangor Daily News and Waterville Morning Sentinel.
I know that Portland Press Herald endorsed Kerry, and the Portland Press Herald and the Waterville Morning Sentinel are owned by the same company I believe. I would think the Waterville Morning Sentinel would follow suit with the Portland Press Herald, but I'm not sure. Waterville Morning Sentinel is circulated in central Maine.

I'm most concerned about the Bangor Daily News. I was not able to figure out through an internet search if they had endorsed any candidate yet. Bangor Daily News is circulated in the most republican parts of Maine, which would be the northern most and central counties.

17. Sun-Sentinel; doesn't matter, they WILL guaranteed.
They are working their way up through all the city/county/state races (and constitutional referendums).

They just endorsed Betty Castor (either yesterday or today); Kerry should get his endorsement within the week...they virtually never endorse a Republican, even for minor posts such as property appraiser.

Well, except for Shaw-R Ft. Lauderdale due to his 24 year incumbancy.

since FL was a key state. We were very impressed with all the Kerry endorsements last Sunday, and are now inspired to drive on w/the same plan for the final two weeks.

I live overseas, and these small town newspapers appreciate the international attention. Despite Rove's attempt to drive a wedge, many Americans still identify w/their European roots.

63. This isn't a letter to the editor
Edited on Thu Oct-21-04 12:04 AM by librarycard
it's a friendly reminder to editors from those of us living overseas w/the military that they need to remind their readers of the true cost of this war.

We're enclosing an actual page from Stars and Stripes w/the AP article "US deaths in Iraq." We're not asking them to print our letter but rather the AP article, every day, like Stripes does.

It's a simple but compelling letter, from a Vietnam Vet with an APO address, and we use the American flag stamp and a VFW return address label for good measure.

If they want to print it as a letter, all the better, but that hasn't been our request.

None have personally responded, but we did notice several of those on our "sent" list who had endorsed Kerry already, sans two.

I will send to your paper today! Thanks!

I'll keep my fingers crossed on Wisconsin. I believe we've sent a letter to every paper in that state.
