Edwards showed extreme compassion for Cheney and gay daughter Mary. Edwards used a play from Conservative Cheney/McCain/Hatch/Gillespie. Act with compassion but stick the knife in the back. In front of 60Mil people, Edwards showed compassion but at the same time told the world that Cheney's daughter is gay. Just in case the world was not informed.

Edwards was so smooth...Cheney crapped in his pants, was forced to acknowledge Edward's kindness, and took a pass on answering. Edwards took him on the danger point. Whatever answer Cheney had, it would have been against gays and that would have been a disaster for Cheney.

Either way, Cheney's support for gays became moot.
