I just got cursed out in an e-mail from a conservative talk show host

I wrote a little piece on my blog about these two local AM radio jocks who were joking about a family of 6 who were burned to death. They also regularly mock homosexuals, minorities, democrats and have called Kerry a treasonous traitor almost daily. The straw that broke the camels back for me was when an 87 year old lady named Sarah called in to tell them off. They hung up on her and then made jokes about her and old people in general. Anyway, I called them and told them what I thought of them (they hung up on me) and wrote the piece (which was pretty vitriolic) and sent Mark Shannon an e-mail saying he was featured on my site.

This is the e-mail I got from him tonight:

I would call the local paper and see if you could get a reporter interested in the story. Maybe do a little expose and see if you can get the community to respond.

This is the kind of thing liberals and conservatives should be able to agree on. Mocking old people and victims of tradgedy should offend all decent people and the community should unite to enforce some minimum standards of decency.

I've met that bastard a few times. I can't stand him.

Do you remember him from his 107.7 days? GAWD he sucked, and that Asian character "The Eggman" did, Johnny Ho I think, was awful, just awful. It tried to be a Howard Stern style thing, but it didn't have the wit, and certainly none of the respect Stern can show when pressed. OKC has a rather large Asian community, and unfortunately it took awhile for 107.7 to realize just how pissed off they were getting at this.

Anyway, as to your question, send it to his producers, with no comment other than enough to give context and to note your displeasure at being harassed in this manner. Be sure to include full thread headers so they know it isn't a hoax.

I'll be listening in on this to see what comes of it. If there's anything I, as a resident of OKC, can do to help, please feel free to let me know.

to the FCC. They govern all sorts of obscenity, and they should know this sack of shit is a loose cannon, to say the least. They'll start paying attention to his show, and no shock jock wants or needs that.

23. He is the worst kind of bigot

he has a statewide forum from which to espouse his racist, homophobic views. He constantly refers to gay people as "butt boys" and on a show last week, he accused John Edwards of being a "butt boy". He has a racist picture on his website portraying Buckwheat, Colin Powell and President Bush. It is amazing to me that this guy has his own radio show and is paid to say the horrible things he does.
