Another Bush TANG Document suddenly "found" and released
Document: Bush Leaves Military Service

Thu Sep 30, 9:16 PM ET

Add to My Yahoo! White House - AP

By PETE YOST, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - The White House said seven months ago that it had released all the records on President Bush (news - web sites)'s stateside military service during the Vietnam War, yet new records are still dribbling out as Election Day approaches.

The White House on Wednesday night produced a November 1974 document bearing Bush's signature from Cambridge, Mass., where he was attending Harvard Business School, saying he had decided not to continue as a member of the military reserve.

The document, signed a year after Bush left the Texas Air National Guard, said he was leaving the military because of "inadequate time to fulfill possible future commitments."

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said the resignation was found in connection with a lawsuit brought by The Associated Press. The White House said the document had been in Bush's personnel file and that it had been found by the Pentagon (news - web sites).

1. There's a link to a PDF at the bottom

It's legible:

http://wid.ap.org/documents/bush/040930guard1.pdf

I don't know that this sheds any new light on anything though, other than the continued finding of "new" documents relating to Bush's service makes it obvious that his file is far from complete and accurate. I wish someone would get Lt. General Daniel James III in a corner and get him to fess up about cleaning out Bush's TANG file in Texas. It was his office that Bill Burkett was in when Gen. James received a call from someone on Bush's staff that they were going to send an official "biographer" and to please make sure that there was nothing "embarrassing" in the file. Burkett asked James point blank if he was actually going to destroy goverment documents and James nodded to a full trash can by the shredder. That's how Bushco knew that the documents given to Dan Rather were fakes, because they knew the originals had been destroyed.

On edit: I forgot to include this link to the bio of Lt. General James. He was only the Adjutant General for Texas National Guard headquarters. He got a promotion to DIRECTOR of the ANG in 2002. Payoff is nice!

6. Maybe I can help
But I'm not sure what it is you can't read. Is it the handwriting on the bottom of the PDF document? If so, this is what I can interpret:

Disch (L'A") re: 2010 AFR 35-41
20Nov74

I'm wondering if the (L'A") might be OK. Can't really see it either. But it sounds reasonable that it would be Discharge OK!

Probably wanted to get rid of the jerk!
