POLL: If Bush wins do you believe it will have been because
of a bad campaign on Kerry's part/great campaign on Bush's part or because the American people simply have shifted to the right?

15. A Media that deserves - and needs - to be shaken up - so that while
we all know they are not controlled by the right wing GOP, perhaps a shaking up would mean they would stop acting like they were controlled by the right wing GOP.

As was in the pundit column today:

Hell - if I could lie and know the media will never call me on it, I could have a campaign that was as "effective and media savvy" as the average GOP campaign.

I love the sound of truth.

:-)

3. Because of BBV and voter intimidation - no other reason
The polls are skewed and corrupted - as has been noted here on DU. The Repugs are shrill and desperate.

BBV is their only chance

The question is, Will we let that happen?

4. Bad campaign
I don't think the people have shifted at all from 2000. It's the same people, mostly scared shitless. Some of the apathetic are still apathetic; no one who used to be political is now apathetic. The candidate's job, unfortunately, is to define the voters' fears. People will embrace the glorious Fuehrer if they are irrationally frightened, and fire him if they are rationally frightened.

Kerry could work harder to actually GIVE US COURAGE to face the next four years whether he wins or not.

6. Impossible to say right now. But if he won a vote TODAY,
I'd suspect foul play.

I'm in the majority that's expecting a big October surprise, though. I expect election day is going to take place in an atmosphere that's very different from today.

9. The pro-GOP media spin... constant and unrelenting...telling Americans
how they are supposed to think. This is the biggest change on the political landscape in the past 10-15 years.

10. You forgot weak candidate.
Too many people who are not political junkies, most of the American population, simply can't tell Kerry and Bush apart.

Demagogue:

18. It will still be a stolen election.

Even if * wins the majority of the popular and electoral college votes and voting irregularities are within normal limits, * will still be an illegitimate president because now he has the added benefit of incumbency, which he never should have had.

So he's still illegitimate. With NO MANDATE to do any blessed thing.
