2. It should be disturbing. No source, just a thought. We vote for guns,
that's why Bush is in office today. We vote for guns and give up our sons and daughters to this administration to fight and die in Iraq for no good reason. Our freedom was in jeopardy from Iraq or even from Al-qaida for that matter. Our freedoms have been diminished by our own government. The gun lobby has made sure that Bush and the Republicans get there way in the Federal government and in the state and local governments. Meanwhile, we vote the people into office because of single issues that actually work against our own best interests.
I am a gun owner but not really a supporter of the NRA. Anyone who helped Bush get into office bears some of the responsibility for what is happening to our country and blood lust that has cost so many Iraqi lives and the lives of 1029 US military.
But the NRA is really REALLY off base. Of course their business is guns. But "one-issue" voting is dangerous. It amazes me how many people are "one-issue" voters...its actually very scary, especially when the fate of democracy falls on the shoulders of those who drink Kool-Aid.
