1. only about one-fourth of the way through Kelly
but find that the information is consistent. Kelly is more personal, behind-the-scenes. Phillips was well footnoted, but a drier read. You know, just the business/politics end is enough to know-- the cocaine, dime-bags and general snottiness pales in comparison.

peace

2. I like the writing style of Kitty Kelley too. Easy to read. Phillips was
very dry.

3. Yes
Not finished with KK yet though.

Kelley's is more "personal" -- she gives details about their lives as American aristos, their relations, and the lifestyles of the WASP elite.

Phillips deals with them more from a strictly historical view, considering them as a political dynasty and comparing them to other famous historical "restorations" of dynastic houses. He shows how certain interests -- oil, Cuba, and the middle east -- have been in the family for generations, and each generation serves to advance these interests. Secrecy and abuse of power and shady connections to intelligence agency also figure prominently. He also has some interesting things to say about "the Bay of Pigs thing." Conclusion by this eminent historian: the Bushistas are up to their neck in the most nefarious shit you can think of.

I highly recommend both books.
