Dan Bartlett on "60 Minutes" last night.
Edited on Thu Sep-09-04 08:54 AM by skypilot
Did you guys hear this fool say that Bush had met all his requirements in the ANG and that he was "granted permission to meet his requirements"? Granted permission to meet requirements. Apparently, when a "spokesperson" won't do, they have to bring out the "communications specialist" and this is the kind of nonsense we get. Quite apart from everything else that I hate about this administration, one of the reasons that they HAVE to lose in November is because I just can't stand to listen to four more years of utter fucking nonsense. Someone apparently needs to explain to Bartlett that a requirment is not something you need permission to meet. I want to say "Don't quit your day job, Dan" but this is his fucking day job.

2. Great point. I'm also tired of him saying that all the proof bush needs
is his "honorable" discharge. That's just not so.
An honorable discharge is proof of having served honorably, but it's only awarded if you have proof of having done so.
Shrub's proof of honorable service is missing and I want to know who gamed the system for bush.
Bartlett's a loser.

3. I love it wihen right-wingers ask...
"Well, how could he have gotten an honorable discharge if he didn't serve? Duh!! They really think that this question is supposed to stump us. If he received an honorable discharge he got it the same damned way that he got into the ANG to begin with, powerful people pulling strings on his behalf.

12. My ex husband got an honorable discharge
He was in the brig for assaulting an officer. The charges were dropped because the officer had not properly identified himself while my ex was standing guard duty (so he bashed him with his rifle butt) but they wanted him out of the service and offered him an honorable discharge so he would go away. From my understanding, it is sometimes given just to make a problem disappear quietly.

9. that statement is also a concession
that EVEN THOUGH (as we point out) he didn't fulfill his duties, he got an HD anyway. Which is sort of the same thing as saying daddy pulled strings to get him out, too.
