I heard about five seconds of her speech before I had to change channels. She is the worst of the worst. She's been willing to tell ANY LIE imaginable to help her husband and her boy get elected President. All the while, she and her right wing friends try to pretend that she is some sort of "kind grandmotherly type". Of course, that's what they'll say about Ann Coulter in ten years too...

After all, before the war in Iraq started she said that she didn't see why she should waste her "beautiful mind" on worrying about the potential American deaths.

She is a terrible mother. Just look at how her kids turned out. And its not like they grew up in rough conditions. They grew up with wealth and privelage, and look at them now. Look at how Dumbya spent his entire life, up to his forties. And even now he seems drunk or incoherent most of the time.

And, of course, you shouldn't be suprised that she is saying Bush is a compassionate conservative and a straight shooter.

It doesn't matter that both statements are a complete load of shit and a blatant lie.

All that matters is that they are repeated over and over again, until they become something that seems like it might be true. Then, it becomes truth.

This is why I really wish that when GOP sleazebags say that Bush is a "compassionate conservative" or that he is a "straight shooter", whoever they are speaking to would challenge it.

For too long Republicans have been working in lies and manipulative speech without it meeting any challenge. As these talking points continue to be repeated without any questioning or examination, the public starts accepting them as fact.

26. This past week has been very rough

There was even a thread about it in the Lounge. I think, for me, it was the swift boat deal ad nauseum. I'm so gratful for DU, though. I've often gotten such a lift when I'm down. As for Babs, she's rotten wretch through and through.

Oh, here's a comment someone made here in DU last year - "The better part of GW Bush ran down his mother's leg during his birth." That sure sums him up. E-e-wwwwww!

22. The 9/11 Commission should have questioned

her and poppy - there's lots of revealing things in her book "Reflections." It came out some time ago (was a flop) but you sure never hear her mention it anymore. She is quite the name dropper and brags a lot. The Commission should read some of the things she brags about - note she never mentions the book now.
