I am getting so tired of this...
I dread the right-wing circle jerk that is happening next week.

I am posting this out of frustration and just pure anger. My mother, a lifelong democrat, just said on the phone to me this morning, "John Kerry should keep his mouth shut about Vietnam" and "I'm not even going to bother to vote this year, it is just a waste because Bush will win anyway". This is exactly what Rove wants from Democrats. I refuse to stand back and let them destroy this nation for their own gain. They are wanting democrats to think that it is already "in the bag" and it is useless to vote. It worked on my mother. I have e-mailed articles, links, told her to turn CNN, FOX and Talk Radio off, but it is not working. She says I am paranoid.

The question that is on all of our minds, is will Kerry win? It is the question that literally keeps me up at night. I fear what 4 more years of the chimp will do to us and the world. I do not watch cable news, and I get all of my news from the internet. I keep on reading here and other places that "Kerry is a Closer" and that he can win this in the end. I know that polls do not matter right now, and that the debates will probably turn things more in our favor.

The truth is, people are angry at Bush. It is not being covered by big media, but the rallies say otherwise. Look at any small town, you will see people who trusted the wrong person in 2000 and have paid for that by losing jobs and even their children in this unjust war.

Bush is afraid of his own people. He is kept in a little bubble. I am sure that when he wakes up every morning, Karl is there with a glass of juice and a printout saying he has a 99% approval rating. Bush has no idea what is going on in the real world. What a nice little bubble he lives in! Everything is explained on an index card, and every issue is in black and white.

These people are dirty. I would used to have said that we do not need to go down to their level, but we need to fight. If it means fighting dirty, than so be it.

I am willing to fight.

1. why in the world would your mom think that? Kerry is leading or
within the MOE in most polls.

Remind her that Clinton won Arizona by an average of 3 votes per percinct

her vote matters A LOT!

2. Kerry will kick Bush's ass in the debates
As long as he keeps his cool, he should be able to run mental circles around that dry drunk. Bush cannot be prepared enough.

I'm actually more interested in the VEEP debate between Edwards and Cheney. THAT ONE should really be fun to watch.

4. If you're willing to fight, then DO IT! We need every fighter we can get!

Welcome to DU, and to the REAL Good Guys Group. Glad you're here, and that you're angry and willing to roll up your sleeves. We need you. We need MILLIONS like you. I, too, have had WAY BEYOND enough. In fact, I've begun telling people that if bush steals it again, it won't be because I sat on my ass. Enough people with our resolve and he won't get close enough to steal it.

5. The real problem is not Bush. It is the media.
One of the reason for most of the frustration even on DU is not so much what Bush has done. It is how the media lets him get away with it. That is what is behind your mother's lament. We are drowning in an ocean of misinformation, distortions, and lies. It is very toxic.

6. There have been two quotes about how the goal of the repubs
is to destroy the Democratic party. One was by Bush. Another came out this week from somewhere. Anyway, tell her about how Bush wants to destroy the Democratic Party and this might be her last chance to vote as a Democrat. Next time she may be a terrorist!

Seriously, tell her it ain't over until it's over. If a lot of people get out and vote, Kerry will win.
