I Just Saw the Bush Olympic Ad on Fox News
just as I predicted last night.

To those that are interested, the prediction is still posted under the title "Aren't You Just Thrilled the Iraqi Soccer Team" in general discussion.

In that thread, I couldn't believe how many well meaning but naive DUers could fall for this shit that Bush and his Puppet regime in Baghdad are selling. A real feel good story laced with bullshit that can gain support so Americans can keep fighting, killing, and dying in Iraq. Bush and Athens, Hitler and Munich, one in the same.

When you ask yourself, "How can the average American buy the shit that Bushco. and his allies are selling?", just look at this thread and it's replies.

If the shit sells here, it will sell anywhere.

You'd think people would eventually learn.

5. I think I see your point now.

However, I still think you're putting too much on the Iraqi soccer team. It's easy enough to sit here and say they should just pass on the Olympics in protest. The decision would be alot tougher if you were living in Iraq, with it's crippled economy and infrastructure.

6. I refuse to be manipulated
either by political, patriotic jingoism or some feel good story that is trying to make me make a decision on emotion.

for the same reason I'm not too religious, I want all the facts ,weigh them, and then decide.

Kerry is best for me, my family, and my Friends. When I see that, then I know he is best for America.

I realize he has flaws. But, after all, we choose the better of two men.

I feel this Iraqi soccer thing is the height of emotional manipulation. I could see it coming. My opinion is that these guys have no business playing soccer while Americans are dying in their country. F**k them and Bush.

7. Right Wing Radio Host
Today was crowing about the Iraqi soccer team win. Stating it proved things were going better in Iraq and that we did the right thing. I called to tell him he was wrong on the rightwingtalkingpointoftheday and he asked if I was happy about the soccer team. I said not particularly and I didn't think getting the Iraqi soccer team a win in the Olympics was worth 100 billion dollars and 1000 American troops lives.

I still find it hard to believe that these conservatives will find the silver lining and talk about it ad nauseum in any small victory in Iraq and ignore the blatantly horrible things that are going on there.

8. I hope all those folks
who vilified me last night here on DU, now see the error of their ways.

My point, that no Americans should be fighting and dying in Iraq while able bodied Iraqi men play soccer all year round, rips the RW talking points to shreds.

Too many DUers here fall for too much feel good bullshit that works in favor of the Repuke spin.

I could see this coming a mile away.
