"Democrats win when people think."
The Big Dog on The Daily Show last night.

True that, it seems to me, in a couple of ways. When voters carefully consider the issues in a clear-headed way, not cowed by fear, it seems that they more often vote Democrat. Similarly, "Democrats win" can also be interpreted to mean that the Democratic Party benefits from a well-informed electorate, certainly more than the Repugs do.

Am I right?

6. I was wondering about the numbers for Bush v. Kerry based on IQ at lunch.
It wouldn't surprise me to see Bush leading Kerry based on lower IQs, number and type of books read, and news programming watched.

There's a woman in our office who infomred me Kerry did not serve in Vietnam - she saw it on the news last night. After a few questions, I realized she saw the Swift Vet Boats ad, the TV coverage talking about how none of the guys served with Kerry and must have come to the conclusion that Kerry did not serve in the war - not that none of the guys in the ad (except one) served with Kerry.

8. not really - not blaming the people.
it is a way of saying that Republican "strategists" and 'leadership" appeal to base emotion over reason as a way to keep people from thinking about what's best for the country.

3. I just love listening to him
He is incredibly intelligent and always speaks of a better way instead of whining like the Republicans. Here is some information for people to think about because when people think Democrats win.

4. I've read articles on studies...
... that confirm that liberals are more highly educated and tolerant and conservatives are less educated, more religious and I think I even read "more fearful"... anyone have any links to that kind of stuff?

5. No formal links
but way back when John Stuart Mill observed -

"While it is not true that all conservatives are stupid, it is certainly true that most stupid people are conservative."

13. Hmmph indeed.
Thanks for pissing in the punchbowl.

Why can't we just appreciate a moment of triumph - without someone insisting on harshing the buzz?
