F-9/11 will be released on DVD on October 5, just four weeks before the presidential election. I think this is going to be devastating for Bushco. LOTS of people are going to watch it during those weeks. Lots of us who've already seen it are going to watch it again. That demographic will be a constantly shifting target because anyone who hasn't seen it will be less responsive to Bushco's damage control, but then they'll see it and the damage control will be uneffective. Bush will have to defend himself against the Moore effect continuously, but if he does, he'll simply draw more attention to it. If he ignores it, the public anger will build unabated for those 4 entire weeks. If he fights it, more people will rent the DVD.

Releasing the film more than four weeks before the election is too soon-- the buzz will have time to diminish. Fewer than four weeks won't give it enough time to build and would spare Bushco the spectacle of trying to spin the damage control. Four weeks is just right. Karl Rove will be buying TUMS by the case....

2. I'd have preferred September, since it will take time to ship the dvds,

and time for the friends we lend the dvds to, to watch it, etc.

But October 5 will have to do.
