Who Saw Joe Conason Make a Fool Out of Steve Malzberg Last Night?
The guest host was last night for "Scarborough Country," Steve Malzberg, was embarrassed by Joe Conason last night. I love how cool and composed (although a tad grumpy) Conason appeared last night in debunking the moronic and ignorant claims made my Malzberg. When I'm done with "Absolutely American - Four Years at West Point," I'm getting Conason's book.

1. Conason was great.
I've enjoyed his columns for a long time now. I had never, however, seen or heard him before. He has a great speaking voice and a good TV presence and should consider job offers, which he will doubtless get, from the rumored liberal radio or TV station-to-be (the one purporting involvement from Al Gore).

5. I have had a "crush" on him for years....
Ol' Smokin' Joe....telling it like it is. I just love this guy. I have emailed him approx. 3 times. Finally, he did reply. <sigh>

He doesn't mince words; straight to point; can definitely "hold his own" and knows what the RW is going to throw him.

He's smart and I LOVE a smart man.

8. That's on my reading list
But I'm really interested in his current book. I'm assuming it has a lot of ammunition to ward off some of the nonsense from the right.

3. Hats off...
to you folks who can watch those shows. I tuned the damn thing in just to see Conason, but the whole Rightwing Worldwide Wrestling Federation thing is soooooo annoying and tiresome I couldn't take more than 2 minutes of it. I have to seriously wonder if I'd ever do it even to sell one more copy of a book....let alone trying to reach THAT audience. Seriously. Whatever the hell's the opposite of preaching to the choir, that has got to be it.

4. Damn, I missed it.
It's so difficult to watch Malhsberg.. he's worse than O'really.. always cuts off the guests..It's all orchestrated.

Mahlsberg is the type that doesn't respond to reason and logic .. he's just there to fight and win -- logic be damned. The only way to deal with these blowhards is to throw out the carefully prepared argument, pull off the gloves and give it to them good... Conason is the type that handles these right wing nuts perfectly.

6. My ghod...
Malzbarf vs. Conason? Wadda mismatch. A knuckledragging genetic throwback to the days when living on land and breathing air was optional versus A Real Human with more than a medulla oblongata a'firing.

Of course, Malzblech will be going on for weeks about how he wiped the floor with Smokin' Joe...That promises to be a load o' larfs.

I am looking forward to seeing Joe do the same to Ann Coulter one of these days.

13. Didn't see the Conason/Malzberg matchup...
Edited on Sat Aug-23-03 12:09 AM by Andromeda
but Conason was on MSNBC with Tweety and Coulter. There was another guest who was a radio talk show host and I didn't get his name since I tuned in late. Anyway, this talk-show host kept interupting Joe and Tweety wouldn't make him shut-up even after Joe asked that he be allowed to finish his point. Tweety jumped in without letting Joe finish and threw another question at him completely confusing the issues. Towards the end Joe asked Tweety if he would arrange a debate between himself and Coulter---and Tweety said NO.

What's up with that?

I think Coulter's afraid of smokin' Joe because she knows he would make her look bad. Is that why neocons are so afraid to debate a knowledgable and articulate liberal?

edited for content.

17. saw a brief portion of SoftBall
wasn't that Dennis Prager(sp).......one would think Matthews would at least make an attempt to moderate his program by allowing guests to fully answer questions OR at least quiet any obnoxious arsewipe who insists on interrupting.....BUT NO, he just yanks it while his guests turn his "show" into a fooking farce.......Tweets stated a Conason/Coulter debate was of no interest to him AND denied her total number of appearances on his show.

Fuck slobber boy, write MSRNC and tell them how much you love Keith Olberman's show!

18. My favorite parts
"Steve, you admitted that you didn't read my book and you don't know what you are talking about, unfortunately."

"So next time, Steve, read the book and then let's discuss it."
