Don't believe for a minute when Faux, etal disavow Swift Boat liars
what's that, you say?

first, they don't CARE whether it's true or not. It's all well and good for them to appear reasonable, but the DAMAGE has already been done, and will continue to do so.

the question has been planted in the minds of the credulous who already have swallowed the flipflopper meme, and don't think that MILLIONS haven't. polls and myriad man-in-street have amply demonstrated this.....just basic Bernays/Goebbels psyops/PR games

second, maybe they're waiting to see if Kerry overreacts with nasty negative ads/comments of his own, allowing the poor babies to cry foul, that all dems ever do is Bush bash/HATE Bush. you KNOW how they squeal whenever even simple policy differences are related, or, god forbid legitimate questions raised over aspects of junta rule.

they have it down to an art qua science, and they'll stoop as low as they need to

just a thought

1. Bush is already using it to call for an end to "soft money" ads.
Which is all Kerry can afford for another month, because he needs to save his campaign funds until after the RNC so that both candidates will be on equal footing.

The damage of this ad ahas already been done, now they are using it as an opportunity to shut down independent advertisers on our side, while Bush can continue fundraising and spend money for a month longer. assholes.

2. that's funny, isn't it?
they fucked up big time in that area, not realizing that those heinous dem election lawyers could read the RULES better than they, and exploited a LEGAL loophole much more effectively than they

it's like what happened in Davenport the other day: the pug idiots had printed up invitations for this venue they were gonna display their pig in the poke, but forgot to put down a deposit

when they went with the check, the DEMS had already paid for it, so they had to go outSIDE!

did you hear about that one?

I found it while searching for relative crowd sizes there

their incompetence is surpassed only by their cynically mendacious venality

3. Why would Kerry even consider Bush's 527 ridiculous ploy
He should just ignore it. Bush will have to continue his backed off stance. And the SwiftVets will be on their own without BushCo support and only half of the RW media echo machine.

4. of course
I meant to say that nobody's going to pay a whit of attention to that VERY lame attempt to deflect the heinous nature of that ad onto the Kerry campaign

it's VERY similar to the response they came up for the Pet Goat Interregnum

have they come up with ANYthing other than the don't upset the kids nonsense?

that is SO pathetic

the media should be SCREAMING about that

SO pathetic in so many ways

just one: they should have NEVER gone into that school in the first place. If they'd paid ANY attention at all to the Aug 6 PDB, as soon as they heard about the first plane, they should have gotten the HELL back on AF1 and gotten out of there, cause they should have KNOWN THEN that some sort of attack was underway....AND it was public knowledge that he was going to be at that school

not only was he endangering himself, but the entire school population, as well

If I were one of those parents, I'd be demanding his IMPEACHEMENT on those ground alone

course, if they knew something was up beforehand.........

not saying they did, but I'm just sayin

12. Not true
The DNC is picking up the tab for Kerry ads in August.

Not sure if this is 'soft money' or not. When I think of 'soft money', I think of Club for Growth, MoveOn, Swiftvets, ACT, etc.

13. right about the money, in terms of not being able to fundraise, or
run KERRY ads

other groups can, and can use 527 stuff

he IS right about pugs being able to spread the vile message as much as they want

AND they can continue to raise money

why would EITHER party EVER want to go first under this idiotic rule?

they're SCREWED?

can Kerry disavow public money?

somebody said he could, but I don't have a clue on the details

so funny about dems making such good use of the FEC loophole, though

NOW.....Teresa, what about spending some of that huge fortune, now that your man has been SAVAGED, not to mention YOU?

you said you would. A toast to you, and her's hoping you're getting the wheels moving

please

5. I think the angle most of the media is using to cover the story ...
is only helping to spread the lie more. They will call it "controversial" it then show a few key seconds of it without explaining that none of the people in it served with Kerry. But they're not spreading the lies they're only covering the controversy.

7. of course
they feign surprise at such a nasty ad, then discuss its possible disingenuous aspects, while repeating the most outrageous snips in a most loving manner

very very effective

matter of fact, I read a news clip saying that it hasn't been released everywhere yet, so the places it's going are getting FREE PR

this makes me more furious than the ad's existence in the first place

Kerry really should start running against media, go directly to the people

as the candidate, he can get away with it, to a certain extent

combine that with acknowledged public disdain for said media, and he might have a chance to get his message across unalloyed by the caterwauling pukefests that comprise so-called media "analysis"

the other night they hauled David Broder out of his sarcophagus to update his trashing of Gore's nomination speech, of which he said he could barely stay awake

no surprise there, but why this senile old spitcairn has any credibility is WAY beyond me

8. The only online news media taking it seriously
are the usual RW suspects:
American Daily, Ohio
World Net Daily

Everyone else is reporting it as a smear campaign.

11. It's not the on-line media we're worried about.
It's the cable and network news outlets that help spread this crap by playing it over and over again and label it a "controversial news story". They don't bother to go any deeper and expose the people behind it. They won't just come out and call it what it is, a lie and a right wing smear instead it's "controversial". If it was an anti-bush add, true or not, they would just ignore it and not give it more exposure.

6. The backpeddling is due to the fact that it has BACKFIRED
and that's the only reason they're coming out against it.

It's going to be hard for Limpballs and Insannity to disavow it.

9. I hope so, but how much damage is done already?
and if they keep running it, there are MILLIONS of Menckenian moranskis who buy garbage like the Popeil Pocket Lawnmower, and will buy ANYTHING they see on TV

if that keeps running, it has the potential to do tremendous damage

btw, I was on Milt Rosenberg's show last night

told them Illinois voters would LAUGH at Keyes, as he's SO far out on the right wing

you know who Joe Morris is?

bowtie Joe is EXCITED by Keyes' candidacy, and poor Milt now regrets not having voted for Al in the 2000 primary?

what happened to HIM?

10. also, it's backpedALing
interesting concept, though, as they're always marketing SOMETHING, even in retreat

as in, trying to get Kerry to disavow the 527s

how funny is THAT?

ain't it great they got outloopholed, then cried bloody murder about it?

14. definition?
What's a "Menckenian moranski"? I figure it's a category of Mencken's boobs, but I "searched inside" of a dozen or so Mencken searchables on amazon without finding "moranski."

17. What about all their howls about Freedom of Speech?
They went on and on about how the people should be able to have a voice when they were battling campaign finance reform. Now when The People really do express their opinions they yip like a coyote. They only want big money folk to have any voice, not the people.
