Bring 'em Home !
Unfortunately, John Kerry and the Democrats have not yet come to this conclusion. However, it is just a matter of time. It is the only sensible alternative to the present quagmire. John Kerry has said he wants to increase our armed forces by 40,000 but he has not said that he wants to increase our forces in Iraq yet.

The wisest decision for the the Democrats and our nation is to start drawing down our troops immediately. We cannot withdraw them all at once because of the mess that Mr Bush has created with his ill-advised invasion. But, we owe it to the voters and the parents of those troops in that area of the world to offer an alternative to Mr Bush's disaster.

Not only would it be the popular decision in this country, it would also be aa start at restoring our credibility around the world. We cannot make progress so long as we are bogged down in Babylon. we can only hope that Mr Kerry and the Democratic leadership come to this conclusion soon - before the Republicans do. Then we would be stuck with the "alternative".

1. Absolutely
Id like to hear Kerry talk about a definitive timeline/plan for getting us out. Its probably too early to even try to make predictions but, I hope come January he will have a plan on the table that they can work from.

2. The assumption is that the place will be more "stable" with US troops...
I do not believe that to be true. I think it's going to be a traumatic time for the Iraqis, whether we are there or not. However, I think it will be worse with our presence.
