Wonder if this is why Ridge is quitting? Maybe some people
even with all the republican tactics will only go so far with a lie and propoganda. Maybe this is the real reason Ridge is throwing in the towel. He is tired of the Attack Mode to hold us all in line.
Just a thought. That and his turf is being tread upon by the recommendations of the 9-11 committee.

decision until after the election. Hummm how would that work, shrub wins I'll stay, shrub loses I'll quit. Gee thats going to be a tough decision since I have also heard that Kerry is considering Bob Grahm for the spot if he wins. Say Tom, thats a no brainer, if Kerry wins, I guess you won't have much of a choice, Jeesh!

3. That'd be like Rumsferatu saying...
"Oh, goodness gracious, good golly, Miss Molly, I MAY be retiring in late November! Could it be because I don't think my Boss will get re-hired? YOU can say that, *I* didn't...."

4. The 911 Commission Report was a ringing non-endorsement of Ridge.
But it is no doubt true he can make a lot more money in the private world.

The fools have had their noses rubbed in the fact that the continuing terror alerts are nothing more than proof positive that they, and especially Ridge, are falling down on the job of protecting us.

Anyone can look around and see there has been little or no effort to make this country more secure, and every toot of the alert siren only draws attention to this fact.

I think they may really have "turned the corner", in a sense: they have had three years to DO something, and people are no longer cutting them a break...they have had plenty of time to show some results, and all we got was was the wrong war, in the wrong place, with the wrong people.

Every time we get a new alert, it only shows how little they have accomplished.

And if we get hit with another terrorist attack before the election, the American People may not wait to throw the entire maladministration out into the street.

6. I don't feel as negative as others about Ridge
It is a thankless, no win job - especially with your boss as Dumbya. A bureaucratic mess, with the knowledge that it is impossible to plug all the ways "they" can get at us and terrified at the prospect of one failure.

He must be justifiably exhausted and demoralized with the priorities and policies of this misadministration. His background is that of a fairly moderate, mainstream Repug and Ashcroft must drive him bonkers.

I bear him no ill will and would be thrilled to have Graham take over.

7. Don't forget, Ridge has now power, no budget....
He was appointed by little bush, but the power and money are under Mr. (I hate the Constitution) Asskrap.

13. exactly, and Bush was against Homeland Security
before he was for it. Ashcroft has caused a lot of shit to fly his way. Those two don't see eye to eye.

8. He's tired of being the toddler who cried Wolf...
When the next attack occurs, people WON'T be ready because they're desensitized to every bogus warning he puts out.

"Oh, there's a new warning! We have no concrete information!" :eyes: It got old, Ridge...

11. Ridge is one of the better Republicans
He was my governor and I met him. He's a decent guy. And he's more moderate than most Republicans

I bet he's just tired of the shit he has to deal with. Ashcroft has been a pain in the ass for him and people laugh at his terror warnings. I think he's just had enough.

12. Oh, c'mon, people. Ridge doesn't have an ounce of integrity
in his whole body. And I rather doubt he's doing it for his own self-preservation.

14. This job has made him look like a fool and a tool
time and time again. I can't imagine knowing you are the butt of a gazillion jokes, and that noone takes you seriously (esp after slipping and telling folks that the whole duct tape thing wasn't tested by safety experts, but had been market tested by FOCUS GROUPS).
