recall in california??

I don't know much about gray davis ( arnold appears to not even know his name despite the fact that he is rumored to run against him) or why they want to recall the votes, but it just seems a little odd to me. as far as i can tell, some republican got his panties in a wad over the election and funded a grassroots organization to stop it.

whether or not he is right...why can they do this when florida was denied a recount? can only republicans reverse elections and select the winners nowadays?

1. recall of the governor is in the California constitution

...this may not be a valid reason, but it appears to be legal under that state's system....and a recall is usually for political 'crimes' as opposed to criminal 'crimes'..

Originally designed to increase participation in the democratic process and as a counter measure to crooked politicians (I know, that's redundant) in 1911, initiatives are, for the most part, now highly funded by out-of-state right wing organizations.
