4. I don't know if this is true, but the other day
someone posted that Clark can't be SecDef because he hasn't been out of the military ten years, and that this is a requirement. They suggested Sec of State or NSA.

2. Clinton as Secretary of State
What a great move that would be for both Kerry and WJC. That would do as much to re-establish America's credibility in the world as anything I could imagine.

21. Holbrooke for sec of state, Spitzer for AG?
I think that is pretty much assured, as much as I'd love to see Bill Clinton or Wes Clark.

Nunn for Sec of Defense

Gep for Labor Sec

The guy from Clinton for Treasury again (Rubin?)

Atty General - Eliot Spitzer or a high profile minority candidate?

Nat'l Sec Advisor - Wes Clark

Dean - Chair of the DNC

3. I'd like to see Dean and Clark get
Cabinet posts. I would not want Biden in the cabinet because it means possibly giving up a seat in the Senate. Would be great to see Clinton in the Cabinet or on the Supreme Court but we'd have to have a majority in both chambers to get him confirmed.

Maybe not likely, but one can dream!

Perhaps more realistic:

Dick Gephardt for Labor Secreetary
Howard Dean for HHS Secretary
CM Braun for Education Secretary

16. Dean as Sec of Health and Human Services would ge great!
A radical overhaul of our present system is obviously in order. Dean would be a fighter and articulator for a federal program that get's everyone covered for reasonable healthcare. He'd be invaluable to Kerry as the front man on this issue....make it a part of the national debate where the people get to make the case for the healthcare system thay want. I suspect that a system modeled after Canada's would be a fair place to start.

How to fund it? Out of the Defense Budget. The biggest threat to our security is a failure to take care of our own, first. These are Democratic priorities. Let Dean make the case and take it to the people (and the Republicans).

Yeeeehah!

Clark - SecState
Kucinich - Speaker of the House (Dean and Kucinich driving healthcare legislation ought to be quite interesting)
Cohen - SecDefense (A good bi-partisan gesture for a proven bi-partisan, former SecDef.....someone who has worked with Clark, too)
Gephardt - SecLabor
Eliot Spitzer - AG
Robert Rubin - SecTeasury
US Ambassador - Carol Braun
Joe Lieberman - Senate Rabbi

12. Biden has problems which would come back to haunt him...AGAIN!
Joe Biden once had presidential aspirations which were crushed by the revelation that he had a dishonest streak:

"Sometimes those guilty of plagiarism get found out years later and
the knowledge can have a considerable impact on their life. During his
1988 Presidential nomination campaign, Senator Joseph Biden, was
found to have plagiarized speeches made by other politicians. Further
investigation showed that he also not only plagiarized work while in law
school but also exaggerated his academic record."

though I don't believe he was retiring from the House - don't know that we'd want to lose the seat. Perhaps there are others to fill the Labor role?

18. I like what you've picked BUT.......
Sec/Def. Biden? I don't think so really. Maybe Wes Clark? And do you think Clinton would wanna do Sec/St now? I dunno. Graham would be great for National Sec Advisor. And I think we'll see some minorities in key positions (I hope!).

19. Clark isn't eligible yet
he has to be out of the military for 10 years (I believe) before he can be SecDef.

I've seen Biden's name mentioned a few times, and I know he knows his stuff, though I agree he is pretty arrogant.

Clinton would be great, but I have no allusions that he would take the position.

I would love to see women and minorities as well - who are some possibilities?

20. Clark for SoS; Elijah Cummings and Max Cleland someplace;
and how about Mario Cuomo for Attorney General?

There are apparently exceptions or waivers allowing someone like Clark to be SoD. But I think he'd be even better as SoS.

Women: Kathleen Kennedy Townsend? Carol Mosely-Braun?

Sec of State - Richard Holbrook

Natl Security Advisor - Rand Beers

Amb to the U.N. - Jamie Rubin

Sec of Defense - Sam Nunn

Sec of Homeland Defense - Gen. Wesley Clark

Head of the DNC - Howard Dean

Attorney General - Eliot Spitzer

Sec or Treasury - Paul Sarbanes

Sec of Interior - Jim Jeffords

I'm having a major brainfart. Who's the Vietnam vet, used to be a Senator, lost three limbs, got a major hatchet job done on him by Saxby Chandliss? That guy for Sec of Veterans Affairs.

I'll probably think of more later.
