I figured it out last night! (The Evil Empires Evil Plan)
I have been using my tinfoil :tinfoilhat: addled, paranoid brain to figure out what "they" are going to do to use as an excuse to delay/suspend elections and it dawned on me last night!

My theory - They are going to bomb the Democratic Convention and blame it on Al Qaeda.

Why?

  1. They need a "terror" attack to remind people to be afraid.

  2. They have a good chance of killing their rivals.

  3. They can clearly illustrate that Dems are "weak" on terror.

  4. More fuel for the eternal war.

Ok - I know it is a paranoid delusion, but it's a good theory neh?

7. I totally agree................
They've stolen an election and invaded a nation under false pretences. Can taking Kerry/Edwards out and blaming it on terrorists be too much beyond their capabilities?

I'm scared for Kerry/Edwards and their families, too.

Like you, I think that's the plan. It's an opportunity to get rid of most major Dems and all the delegates in one fell swoop. :tinfoilhat:

10. A Better Dream for Al Qaida's "imminent attack
...Shiver - I had this thought you and your Mom had about an attack on the Dem convention (and "Made to look" like Al Qaida) two months ago and I tried to suppress it and not give it energy or "create it".

Instead I prefer this thought:

A better "dream" and more realistic focus and solution for Al Qaida's goal's is to instead hit the Repukes convention & hit simultaneously Haliburton and the Crawford Ranch and Caryle Group & Richard Perle & Rumsfeld's houses - and be heros in the world. Then, Pres. Kerry and VP Edwards open up to the int'l community establish good relations and begin to stop the foreign policy and contoversial actions (ie military in Saudi Arabia and have "Peace Corps" that reaches out to the Muslim World...

4. an analysis of the evil plan I posted in 2002...
here's what I posted in 2002, concerning the evil neocon plan, at another website, where I was lambasted by republithugs and from then on they kept referring to tinfoil hats.
To keep in mind, though, when I posted this, none of it had yet come to pass. Its interesting to see what has, indeed, come to pass since then:

-----------
Here's just something to stimulate conversation. Here is my pet "conspiracy theory". I like to think about them, even if I view them with a healthy grain of salt...

How would the neocons achieve their goals?

I envision a three prong approach...

prong one: control all three branches of the government, and the intel community. Rumsfeld has already created his "CIA within the CIA" group, and the office of Homeland Security puts everything under the purview of Tom Ridge. More and more power controlled by less and less people.

prong two: quell with extreme prejudice the rights of citizens to protest by removing their access to due process, paving the road for political prisoners, like there used to be in South Africa. Sure, now its "suspected" terrorists, but how long until its anyone who disagrees with the administration? without access to legal counsel, the outside world and being held indefinitely and executed without trial, the US will have the ability to "disappear" citizens who are vocally antiadministration, and there won't be any way to prevent it since it will all be done in secret, with no protections.

prong three: rubber stamp the middle east, and then the world, in the US image. with prongs one and two in place, prong three will proceed without interference.

I know I'm extrapolating a bit, but you have to admit, everything is heading in this direction.

now, how will we know this plan is in place, or working in the coming days?

--elimination of civil liberties, weakening the ability of the citizens to stop the juggernaut
-- reshaping of the present character of the checks and balances system (like trying to stop filibustering), in such a way to advantage the executive branch over the other branches.
-- More and more "disappeared" people, along with executions in Guantanamo.
--

Also look for:
-- scenario: Bush loses the popular vote, again, and wins the electoral vote, but the chasm is wider, making it obvious the electoral college has been manipulated.
-- the rescinding of the two term presidency.
-- the permanence of US bases in Iraq as a base of operations, with the dropping of the MOAB on Syria or Iran, to "make a strong case" for submission to the US.

anyways, you get the idea.
Keep in mind, I'm just freeforming this, but I also think at least some of it is probably accurate, as far as strategy.
Feel free to discuss it, tear it apart, come up with your own, etc.

so much of what you've said is stuff I've been speculating on for a long time. *shrub losing the popular vote but wins with the elctoral college has been about my biggest fear of all.

another terrorist attack would show that this administration can NOT protect us from terrorism, which would be even MORE reason to vote for Kerry/Edwards

11. Which would make the dems that survive the attack the
crusading victims - championing for the martyr for the cause that were victims of the attack. The dems would be instantly embraced by and hits with the Americans. Too many good candidates wanted the nomination. Too many possible replacements.

23. Not necessarily--"compassion fatigue" has set in
The message I seem to hear frequently from the rw sites I watch and the occasional nutbar TV/radio I tune in makes it sound like many people have developed a sense of "compassion fatigue" that makes them feel disdain for victims.

When people are anxious about their own well-being, there is a tendency to look for ways that victims--whether they be victims of ordinary crime or victims of terrorists--brought it on themselves. And anxiety is rampant in the country right now...

24. Oh, if a terra attack occurred and took out all of the dems
on the ticket, you can bet that those that survived (the attack) would be a shoe in -- we love to honor our heros. The almost 3000 lost on 9/11 are not seen as victims, but heros. The emergency workers that tried to rescue folks were the heros. The poor guys trying to help others out of the buildings were heros. The poor schmucks told to return to their offices in the 2nd tower by the NY transit authority were victims as were hundreds of others.

The sentiment of the people is that the war in Iraq is justified because of 9/11. They go to sleep at night content with their warped beliefs that we are killing thousands because of the heros that died on 9/11.

America loves its heros.

8. More fuel to the fire...
:tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat:

I haven't been thinking along these lines (though this info is being filed away in my tin foil hat vault), but here goes my two cents...

If Kerry is elected, it's not too much of a leap to say that some Rs will be very disappointed and more than willing to take their disappointment out on the rest of us--think the OK city bombing.

If Bush is elected (and the only way that will happen is to steal the election--again), I can tell you that I for one am not going to stand for it.

I'm sorry to say that most of my thinking leads me to one conclusion. In our future, I see cival war.

That, my friends, scares me.

they have some violent contingency plan in the event they determine that fraud will not steal another election. i DON'T believe they will do it unless ALL else fails; & they still have diebold, voter exclusion, public gullibility, & the Supremes working in their favor

i hesitate on your choice of targets as being too obvious.

then i caveat myself into the realization that they are as subtle as the 3 stooges. will consult my totem to determine my best guess @ target. i do think that such a plan wd have to be implemented sufficiently close to the election for martial law to be declared; the convention is a bit removed in time.

the results of implementation of the contingency are easy (& horrible) to predict. i'm still wondering what the reaction to another 'jacked election wd be.

pretty close to time to trade that tinfoil chapeau in for 1 made of steel & kevlar...

13. I'll be surprised if that happens
When security is required and ordered in America, it's usually quite effective. The Dem convention will have extensive security precautions and surveillance.

When I put on my tinfoil hat, I see dirty bombs, or low grade bio-weapons used against several large (mostly liberal) populations. There won't be much physical, infra-structure damage this time, just allot of scared people that may or may not have been exposed and effected by invisible contaminants. Much better for fear, and less expensive and disruptive to shopping.

Anyway, I've decided to adopt the message of sunny optimism that the Kerry Campaign is trying to deliver. Fight fear with bright optimism.

We need to derail these republican mind-f**ckers, not only by not being afraid in the least, but by consciously deciding what alternative version of America we are now actively building at the beginning of this huge groundswell of progressive activism that is just getting started now all over America.

Let the bastards give us their best shot. The American people will pummel them with the truth, and a highly developed vision of the America we plan to build from the rubble of the BFEE crash and burn that is coming.

Despite all my private misanthropy and terminal cynicism. I've decided to take this stance until the election. If Bush wins. We move to plan B. And we keep fighting until we bring the bastards down in the name of freedom and democracy.

"These are the times that try men's souls."

14. "Bush/Bin Laden 2004"
is a more appropriate bumper sticker slogan than Bush/Cheney. Osama (or at least, the scary idea of Osama...out there somewhere...being scary) helps Shrubbie's election odds much more than Big Dick.

16. Sooner rather than later
there will be a need for a real "democratic under ground". If things continue to progress as they have, protesters will be arrested as "enemy combatants" they are already being arrested we read about it every day. Soon we won't be reading about it at all but it won't stop. Free speech is dead.
.
If the draft is enacted there will also be an under ground railroad as there was during the VN war for war protesters.
.
As for the up and coming election, there is already a high terror alert, if they raise it to "RED" it triggers martial law.
.
Do yourselves a favor and check out exactly what a red alert really means. Ridge and others are now talking about postponing elections in emergency situations.
.
None of this is tin foil hat thinking, they stole the election and they will not give up that power easily.
.
To do so means jail time for many of these criminals we now have in OUR WH.

20. I thought about that as well
BUT it might very well blowback right in their faces. The nation is not the same as it was 1 year ago. There is rising dissent against Bushco, F911 helped, no WMD report helped, no terror link helped, Richard Clarke's book helped, Joe Wilson's book helped....heck, even Cheney's blasphemy helped!

The point I am trying to make is that it wiould in effect, guarentee a huge sympathetic following to the dems.....and it would prove that the repubs FAILED at keeping the nation secure, even though it is central to their re election platform.

No, my tinfoil hat prediction does not include the convention...my thinking is that John Edwards is in grave grave danger. Here is an All-American poster boy, well liked, good looking, well spoken.

21. I'll play along on this
and add that they will have to accomplish it (biological or chemical attack most likely) during the 3 measly hours that the networks will be devoting to coverage of the event. They won't want to create sympathy for Kerry, so will have to choose their timing to coincide with the entrance and speech of their most hated enemy. Yup. That one.

Anything can happen these days. Stay tuned, and something surely will.
