MEME MEMO: A People's Lawyer
Edited on Tue Jul-06-04 09:21 AM by ClassWarrior
Not a trial lawyer. A courtroom lawyer. A people's lawyer. A lawyer fighting for the rights of common folk.

Drop the expression "trial lawyer." Don't play on the RepubliCONs' turf.

The MEME MEMO: Taking back the language for the forces of good.

5. Wish I knew
Whether Kerry approached McCain or not. McCain says he did but MacCain is a little flaky.

6. I believe it was discussed...
...shows that Kerry is broad-minded enough to consider a Republican for the ticket.

Very appealing to swing voters and independent voters, who appreciate true bipartisanship (not bullying disguised as bipartisanship).

14. McCain says he didn't.
McCain's chief of staff, anyway.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A34742-2004Jun11.html
Mark Salter, McCain's chief of staff, said McCain "has never been offered the vice presidency by anyone."

So, yeah, Bush and the RNC are a pack of liars. But that's hardly news, is it?

4. Yes, Abe Lincoln was a courtroom lawyer. A people's lawyer.

And John & John should make sure that everyone makes the connection.

I'm simply talking about taking back the language.

12. We should declare this "John/John Day." Irresistable!
Edited on Tue Jul-06-04 04:20 PM by calimary
And after all, our lead guy's initials are JFK, are they not? And he's got a wife who has style, is cultured and international, chic, dedicated, independent, a woman of substance, and she speaks French...

Or should it be "John-John Day" (punctuation)?

13. I love that one Mary...
"He defended Grandma against Enron."

That's awesome. Puts it in language the average schlub can understand.

19. To be absolutely immaculate, CW, it should probably be worded:
"He defended Grandma against the big Enron-TYPES."

Because the RARE (probably endangered species) of republi-CON who actually does fact-check in the most literal sense might claim that this is a misrepresentation since Edwards did not ACTUALLY defend anybody against ENRON, specifically. The use of the word "Enron" is, here, a metaphor. A buzzword. But we should probably be as fine-tuned about this as possible.

20. "The Lawyer for the Little Guy" is another possibility.
Use of alliteration makes it catchy - and memorable.
