Clark and Dean have an advantage on internet polls?
They're the best organized in terms of the WWW. How much effort does it take to register and vote on DU? How about MoveOn? Granted MoveOn would be more difficult to skew, but 70,000 Dean supporters could certainly make a dent. They are both popular candidates, but seeing Clark and Dean tied for the lead really surprised me. I would have expected Dean, closely followed by Kucinich, and then Kerry at a distant third.

Of course it wouldn't be "freeping", since they would be complying with registration requirements, &c. It is worrisome when it appears there are far more votes than would account for the regular posters on these polls, though DU admin could probably calculate that better than I. What do you think?

1. Oh my goodness, yes
As a staunch Clark supporter, I can tell you that Clark's candidacy at the moment is probably around 90% powered by the Internet and MeetUps.

That will change, of course, once these ads get out and he announces his candidacy, but Clark's support is definitely massively overrepresented on the 'Net, as is Dean's, who also has 'Net support that is way out of proportion with his national polling or name recognition.

As for that latest poll, it wasn't abused--Clark just had a kickass press appearance today and may have converted a few people.

Go blow dried napoleans!

2. Clark has a lot of potential, but hasn't shown much of his hand yet. (nt)
