1. please keep us posted...
I'm very excited about that documentary. It even got a quick review from CNN the other day, which means that some secretary there is trying to assert some liberlism into the organization, since all of the 'journalists' there can just barely read, which is obviously their job, to just read the teleprompter.

4. Some rather clever stuff in this...
... from what I read. Taking the concept of the corporation as having all the legal rights of a natural person to a logical extreme, the documentary producers hire a psychologist to assess the corporation's mental state. The prognosis? The corporation is a psychopath....

Looks like a really good poke at the people who think the modern corporation is wonderful.

12. Most of those articles are...
... variations on a theme from his book, Unequal Protection. I recommend that for the history on how corporations acquired legal personhood.

6. saw film in April
It's by same Toronto-based folks who made Manufacturing Consent some 12 years ago. As with that film, this one is quite long but definitely worth watching.

7. i emailed the corporation's site
to [email protected]

To Whom It May Concern:

I’m really interested to see this film; however, due to my unfavorable locale, a lack of local awareness, and theater chains that are apathetic to anything that isn’t a “potential blockbuster” my chances of seeing it anytime soon after it’s release are slim.

With the recent success of Michael Moore’s latest documentary, it is evident that the entertainment industry can be educational and powerful political catalyst and informant without sacrificing potential earnings and artistic respect. Now more than ever, with the waning interest in the books and the increasing corporate and political control of our mass media other outlets of information need to be introduced. One of the important oversights of these contributions to the film industry is the increasing awareness and interest in socio-political issues that otherwise would go unobserved to the common media consumer. The success of your film would serve a dual purpose of providing your viewers with the information your film contains and increasing this socio-political cognizance, and acting as a catalyst to the use of film as a viable outlet of media proliferation.

I plan on doing my part and contacting my local theater chain, but I also think that it would be important if this action was encouraged by other enthusiasts. Perhaps, encouraging this pressure by consumers would increase awareness and give theater owners reason, whether financially or intellectually, to implement “The Corporation” in their theaters.

Thank you, and awaiting your response:

Chris

16. One of the best movies I've seen
I can't say enough about this movie. I saw it about a month ago. It's been playing here forever, I didn't know it wasn't available in most major centres.

It tracks the rights of the corporation as a 'person.' The movie is on the long side, but so informational. I consider myself a moderate, and have always worked in a business environment. This movie has certainly made me keenly aware of the ethics of the corporations that I am involved with.
