Have you seen today's Ann Coulter column?
Here's the first paragraph of today's diatribe.

<snip>

America's greatest president has gone home. God worked through Ronald Reagan on Earth and now He's taken him back. Reagan is survived by his wife, three children, and the hundreds of millions of people he saved by winning the Cold War. Thanks to him, the United States of America never ceased to be, as Reagan said, "a place to escape to" -- the last stand on Earth.

<snip>

It doesn't get any better.

The sheer absurdity of this stuff proves that Andy Kaufman really is still alive and that he's writing all this crazy shit. He's also hired a skinny, ugly actress as a front. He's implanted a radio device in her skull (same as Chimpy's) so he can feed those absurd comments that continually spew from her.

Great job, Andy! You can come out now!

5. Sorry. He's the Canadian Conservative Party leader
Stephen Harper. Sensible people don't want him to win. He's a real lightweight, white-bread type of guy.

Thanks for the input, I'll alter my sig.

20. Harper is more than "light weight &white bread".....he's dangerous
Stephen Harper is another Brian Mulroney....He's even been meeting with him and using the same line lying Brian used..."you won't know Canada when I get through".....He's trying so hard to hide his real agenda of privatizing health care and building up a huge military by running those fuzzy, warm commercials showing himself as a loving father, who loves Canada....He disgusts me.....:puke:

15. Guns have one purpose, to kill.
Okay, so you get your rocks off on shooting animals, or going to war to defend freedom. Funny enough I can deal with that in a somewhat sane if deluded person. I don't like it but I can deal with it. However, when did it become expedient for every psycho in the world to have a right to own guns. When did it become expedient for stupid people, who don't put their guns away where there kids can't get at them, to own guns. HMMM????

3. She is one of the most embarrassing things about America
You know we're in deep shit -- you could probably come up with a color-coded warning system. The more national TV appearances by Ann Coulter, and the more hysterical her columns, the closer we are to succumbing completely to insanity.

4. Someone really needs to clue the right in
to the fact that there's a guy in the Vatican with a big hat who had a little more to do with the end of Communism in Europe than St. Ronaldus ever did.

If the USSR would have collapsed under Carter, the right would be endlessly reminding us that Presidents from Truman on up had basically the same Cold War policy and that Carter doesn't deserve any credit. Just because it happened on Ronald's watch doesn't mean he did anything to make it happen.

7. Craaazy!
Here's Madam Haw Haw's full column if you really want to experience her bile:

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/anncoulter/ac20040610.shtml

I find Ann Coulter's stuff to be very reminiscent of Adolf Hitler's writing (well, Mein Kampf anyway). The didactic and forceful tone taken against "enemies" (Jews, Marxists and social democrats to Hitler, "liberals" and Muslims to Coulter). The piecemeal histories, shoddily cobbled together to prove whatever "point" the author wishes to make. The raw emotion running through the writing, almost to the point where any "factual" or alleged factual references are merely clothing to dress the hatred up as rational discourse.

Craazy!

13. the pope did it
When the "evil empire" intimated in Public that the POPE wouldnt be welcome back in Poland and he went anyway.... 100K waiting in the rain, and he showed, that was the beginning of the end. Reagan never went to a SOviet Block country. He didnt do squat, he put the burden on the taxpayers to build more missles (i was in the military from 1980-1988) and rode on the shoulders of the POPE. That being said, i cried when Nancy went to the capital to get the body, no one should have to go through ten years of that, what the fuck is bush thinking when he blocks stem cell research?

14. Ann is a pathetic piece of human garbage.
She thinks our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan are only "getting their hair mussed." She says with a straight face that Baghdad is just as safe as Washington, DC. She is a non-thinking automaton that spews hate repetitively. The only person stupider than Ann is one who reads her lies and believes them. Every generation has its hatemongers. Ann and Rush are two of the vile specimens of ours.

17. The thing is about Dann
Is that it is natural for Reagan to be an idol of hers, after all Reagan ratted out a few of his fellow actors during the house comm on Unamerican activities. She loves Joe McCarthy, Roy Cohn J. Edgar and of course Reagan. All of these mean are reprehensible but IMHO Reagan is the worst because he actually was a snitch.

Jesus spoke of loving your enemies.

The obvious comparisons between Reagan and Jesus show just how warped the right wing is. That ANY christian could possibly vote for these people is disgusting.

35. Reagan's inflexibilty prolonged the Soviet Union
Doug Saunders in the Globe & Mail makes toast of Coulters argument.

"American historian Frances FitzGerald, whose Way Out There in the Blue is the most detailed and impartial chronicle of the Washington 1980s yet written, points out... that it is the inveterate propensity of Americans to relate the fall of sparrows in distant lands to some fault or virtue of American policy...

A myth was created to link Mr. Reagan's tragic inflexibility to the heroic flexibility of Mikhail Gorbachev...

Reagan ...ignored vast opportunities for change. He almost certainly made the Cold War last two or three years longer than it would have under a more flexible, thinking leader..

36. Ann Coulter says moderate republicans aren't real Americans!
"In fact and of course, liberals loathed Reagan. Their European friends loathed Reagan – the protests against our current president are positively anemic compared to the massive protests against President Reagan when he went to visit our dear "allies," whose sorry asses we spent billions of dollars defending against the Soviets for 50 years. Even the moderate Republicans currently trying to insinuate themselves onto Reagan's legacy weren't especially fond of Reagan at the time – especially when attacking him publicly would get them invites to the tonier Georgetown cocktail parties. Only authentic Americans loved Reagan. "

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/anncoulter/ac20040610.shtml

Apparently the only real "authentic Americans" are crazed wingnuts like Ann.
