DUer DEMVET-Oscar`s: BHT as anti-viral gaining public/google interest
He just recently published his up to date concepts regarding this important topic an the world is interested. To find this work, do a google search using: butylated hydroxytoluene+antiviral and see for yourself how his groundbreaking concepts are gaining interest as to BHT as a treatment for hepatitis-C, AIDS and other deadly viral diseases. His latest posting on this thread completes his work as it now exists.

1. BHT was being touted as an antiviral
back in the early 1980s. I remember people saying it would work against Herpes-family viruses (back then some people thought AIDS -- or GRID as it was called at the time -- was caused by a herpes-family virus). It seemed to have been discredited.

I'm surprised to see it now being revived as something 'new'.

Has something changed?

4. What has changed is that there is a strong renewed interest in BHT as
an antiviral agent for not only herpes 1 and 2 but also as a treatment for hepatitis B and C, AIDS, and other diseases. A good link for information regarding all this is: < http://www.delano.com/ReferenceArticles/BHT-Still-Working.html >. You will find other usefull links at this site. ...Oscar

2. This isn't latest breaking news
Good story, but wrong place!

I'm going to move this to the General Discussion forum.

If you have any questions, please re-read the rules for posting Latest Breaking News on the main page.

Thanks!

3. Perhaps BHT Was Shelved in the '80s
because it interfered with medico/pharmico industry plans to introduce extremely expensive medicines? BHT had already been used commonly for decades as a food preservative, so it couldn't be patented.
