if bush is a true christian, then he knows he's going to hell
cause that's where bad people go, even 4 year old sunday schoolers know this, so surely the born again president knows it as well.

so, if he knows he's going to hell to suffer eternal torment anyway, why bother being nice anymore? he's damned, and we're all damned with him as a nation under his command. thanks to g.w. bush, we're all goddamned now.

i ain't no christian no more, but, i do remember that hell is reserved for those who would kill even ONE innocent person. there are so many of god's laws, and christ's admonitions that bush has blasphemed against, so many times that he's taken the lord thy god's holy name in vain. so many missed opportunities to feed the poor, house the homeless, free the oppressed, clothe the naked, love a neighbor, save a child, spare a mother, so many failed opportunities to do the work of jesus.

go to hell mr. bush, and please hurry up.

6. It's the rich man's loophole
They've substituted Paul's ticket to heaven for Christ's. Paul said faith alone was sufficient, so they can keep their luxuries, screw the poor, stiff the working class, start wars and murder thousands, and still go straight to heaven on the basis of their faith.

My guess is that they're in for a shock.

22. You can't be a hypocrite about it. You can't blaspheme God and be forgiven
Jesus said whey they say, Lord, Lord, I served you all of my life, he would turn his back and say, "I never knew ye."

What Bush is doing is blasphemous. That is the one sin, in the new testament that is unforgiveable. When you say that you are doing what you're doing because God wants you to do it, that is blasphemy. Bush oughta know that he his blaspheming God.

14. Nah, Hell uses geothermal energy.
No oil required down there. Though Satan keeps some coal burning fires going, just so he can torment a few people mining and shoveling it.

4. Works vs Faith
It depends on who you ask. There are those that believe it is your actions here on earth that determine you destination. But then there are those in the majority that insist that it is acceptance of Jesus that determines your salvation. Of course then there are those that postulate that you can determine if someone has accepted Jesus by their actions. Which of course means that nice people that don't accept Jesus are still going to the place without climage control and those that pull a last minute mea culpa get the nice rooms.

9. Isn't the born again method potentially more dangerous?
A Gawd fearing Calvinist might be more hesitant to engage in a uncessary unjust war because he or his detractors would come to view such an action as a horrible and non-repairable mistake.

If Bush goes to war he might say oops I screwed up but since I found Jeebus everything is alright with me.

15. Bush is a Methodist
Anyone remember when Bush said that he is a Methodist during the Tim Russert interview?

Mr. S noticed that he leaned forward when he said this, almost as if it were a signal to those "in the know." Some Methodists believe in war, especially if it is against the enemies of Israel.

I think he really does believe that this is what he's doing, that it is required of him, but he knows on the inside that his place in the afterlife is in question (as it is for all of us.)

19. Yes, they were
But he doesn't go to church (or goes rarely), and obviously doesn't care what the church says, since GOD HIMSELF told Bush to bomb Iraq.

They were against the war. I don't think it's all or even most Methodists who believe this way.

thou shalt not kill, covet thy neighbor's oil, lying, stealing, cheating, gluttony, lust, worship a false god, etc. there's a few sins they don't even have commmandments for yet that bush is now inventing.

10. Yet even they expect to go to heaven at last
Henry David Thoreau.

I don't think he will get a very nice reception... but it may be like Kurt Vonnegut's Happy Birthday, Wanda June.... I mean if the Beast of Bulgaria can get in even as a mad dog Nazi, then why not the Chimp. He can play shuffleboard with the other confederate Soldiers.

16. This is the choice.
"so, if he knows he's going to hell to suffer eternal torment anyway, why bother being nice anymore? he's damned, and we're all damned with him as a nation under his command."

This is the choice. He could decide to say f*ck it and take everyone with him, or he could turn against those who control him. I almost believe that this is why he has such a problem speaking and "presenting the case"- his subconscious is trying to sabotage the entire NeoCon/BFEE cabal.

23. Christianity has changed a lot since we went to church. I have been
catching up with X-tian radio lately. Apparently the only wrongdoing these days is about sex, you know fornication, adultery, dirty language and homosexuality. Nothing else is a sin anymore and they back this up with the Epistles of St. Paul.

Lying is no longer a sin. The preacher told a whopper as a "fact" today about Ephesus at the time of the Apostles. Of course I don't think he expected his target audience to know anything historical about St. Paul's times. He talked down to them like they were all in kindergarten and were caught masturbating.

I have heard nothing about killing, murder, doing bodily and mental harm to others, not a word, in a couple of weeks of listening, unless it's about abortion. That seems to be the only act that qualifies for the sin of murder. It's all about sex and nothing else.

25. No this isn't true-
remember, a lot of churches including Bushes own denomination, found a preemptive war on Iraq was NOT a "just war" and condemned it.

As a methodist I have to say I don't ever remember homosexuality or abortion being sermon topics. Usually sermons seem to center around NT topics rather than OT Leviticus taboos. Well that, and once every 4 or 5 sundays they somehow manage to eak out an entire sermon on opening your wallet along with your heart and helping raise that new marquis or basketball court ;) I understand some of the fundy churches spend an inordinate amount of time on abortion and homosexuality but this isn't an across the board rule for every Christian church.

26. It is true.
The radio stations I have been listening to preach this stuff. It may not be true in your church, but don't say it's not true because it isn't your experience.
