Kerry and Cheney coming to my town

Well, I plan on being at both appearances. Cheney will be in KC on Tuesday, June 1 at the Expo Center at KCI airport at 11:00 am. Senator Kerry will be in my town, Independence, MO on Thursday, June 3 at the Truman Museum at 1:00 pm. Kerry is scheduled to give a major policy speech focusing on his plan to redirect the military to deal with terrorism. Cheney:puke: will be speaking on the Patriot Act.

1. Having gone to see both when each came to my town,

I suggest you compare the level of security and openness of each event.

When Cheney came to town, we were herded into a "free speech zone" surrounded by a cyclone fence by cops in riot gear while he hid in a hotel passing the collection plate to the tune of $2000 a pop. We jammed the streets with protesters and that tied up traffic.

When Kerry came to town, disruption was minimal and the event was open to the public with no problems. He did a private fundraiser afterward and got out of town without hundreds of riot cops billing the city for working overtime.

You should give us a report to see if this will be the same in your area.
