Subject: Scott Ritter-Former UN inspector on with Hartmann today

The Thom Hartmann Program

Scott Ritter 2pm et Tuesday, August 12--Evidence of WMD coming soon…
David Kay has told his superiors he has found substantial evidence of biological weapons in Iraq, and some missile development. Bush says wait until mid-September to announce. We’ll hear if Scott Ritter has anything to share with us about this potential situation!

Has This Administration Shredded the 1st Amendment?

1pm et Tuesday, August 12-Join Thom and guest Brett Bursey who was arrested for

protesting outside “A Free Speech Zone”

Network Director of South Carolina Progressive Network, Brett Bursey faces federal charges for threatening the president with a "No War for Oil" sign at a Republican rally last October. Bursey was originally arrested for refusing to go to the "free speech zone" and charged with trespassing. Five months after the arrest, the state dropped the charges and the US Justice Department brought charges under the “threatening the president” statute. Bursey faces prison & fines if convicted.

We are!

1. Hmmm
David Kay has told his superiors he has found substantial evidence of biological weapons in Iraq, and some missile development. Bush says wait until mid-September to announce.

Oh, let's choose a random day in mid-September. Maybe the 11th?

2. There was a story yesterday that said all Kay found
was proof Saddam ordered the use of chemical weapons against coalition troops BUT NO ACTUAL EVIDENCE OF THESE WEAPONS. Gee, maybe Saddam was bluffing?

3. I heard this
yesterday on CNN. ALL they said was, "WMD were found, but the administration wants to hold the info for a "later" date". Huh? Was my reaction. Sept. 11th seems the perfect time, doesn't it? It doesn't matter that they FINALLY found these! It was of utmost importance that we invade Iraq because they had TONS of the stuff and would use them on us at any moment...PUHLEEEEZE! NOW, they use them for special effects in politics! A little late, I'd say. I so hope the American people see right through this. AND, I hope the media will report the fact that they were found in August and not reported until Sept.. Let's see, their excuse will be..."We had testing to do. We wanted to be sure they were WMD".

This administration is so damn corrupt!

Thanks for the heads up on Scott Ritter! I can't wait to hear what he has to say about this.

He'll have found evidence of WMD programms from 10 years ago. Hardly an imminent threat.

5. The news media is starting to make sounds that they may be taking
a different tack on the 9-11 memorial coverage moving away from the sentimental slop towards investigational coverage of motives behind the attack. Of course Rove needs something to stop this. David Kay to the rescue.
