They throw these freaking stories out there and they get the HEADLINE,
then the follow up "Real Story" gets buried on page 9. Pisses me off to no end.
Sorry for the rant. I'll sleep better.

1. beauty of it is--even if they were right or perceived so..
people of all political stripes are still p!ssed because the way they went about it was horrendous. they did everything wrong from too few troops, not enough international involvement, ticking off Iraqis, not admitting failures, letting US people rape Iraqis..torture..it goes on and on.

Plus, a lot of people (even the ones who will respond otherwise to you or in polls) know dam well this doesn't amount to what the admin was pushing on us prewar.

2. People know their gas prices are going up.
They aren't sure what Sarin is.

They are sure that Iraq is a mess.

3. Probably about 40%
Bush's base believes anything they hear out of Limbauugh's mouth or see on Faux News.

They are the "useful idiots" of the Right.

6. ...Weapons of Mass DISTRACTION?
Oh, yeah. Those were located. It looks like the 'October surprise' came a bit earlier than we all thought, as Bush's poll numbers are diving for the gutter after the Seymour Hersh article appeared in "The New Yorker."

7. How did the three networks handle this story this evening on their
news casts?? I was out on the golf course and didn't want to know anymore of the bullshit at the time. Did they make a big deal out of it? Where they trying to push the "gosh Bush might have been spot on" angle or what?

9. News caused short- lived stock buying uptick since it could boost Bush's
re-election chances- according to financial analysts on TV this afternoon who were watching the market's movement today. Comment was made that events favoring Bush help stocks and the market would have tanked even more today if sarin story hadn't hit.
Sickening to think that the presence of sarin in a detonated bomb that exposed soldiers to harm could be considered good news to the Bushites grasping at anything to prop him up.

The evening news I watched downplayed it and quoted Rumsfeld saying that sarin was not confirmed. (deja vu all over again)

My impression is that this sarin news just makes the out of control situation in Iraq even more pathetic and scary since we have failed to find any WMD stockpiles plus we failed to safeguard the stockpiles of non-WMD that we did find that were looted and are now being used against us.
