Franken Destroyed Coulter in Hartford tonight

Hey all, I attended the debate between Ann Coulter and AL Franken in Hartford Connecticut tonight. Anyone else there to see it? (Sorry if someone already posted a thread, I couldn't find one) All I can say is, wow Coulter really got destroyed. That pretty much sums it up.

Oh yeah, and Al Franken is one seriously funny guy. The best way to describe the show tonight was "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: Chapter 3" Live and onstage in Hartford.

12. Some details

Early on, Coulter was asked by the moderator what politician she admries the most, and which one she would like to be. She said she admired Joe McCarthy the most, and that if she could be anyone, it would be FDR, so she could go back in time and stop the New Deal.

So when Franken was posed the same question, he immediately goes (paraphrasing), "I would want to be Hitler. Since Ann wants to erase the new Deal, I think I'll go back and say, erase the Holocaust. Erase alot of things Germany did. But keep the Volkswagon." When told that the Volkswagon still existed, Franken then added a bit more humor saying "yeah but Hitler never would have wanted the Passat".

- When Coulter said most Conservatives already acknowledge that Abu Ghraib was bad and that it was time to move on and support the country again, Franken pointed out how Limbaugh and Michael Savage tried to say that the Iraqi abuse was no big deal. He pointed out Savage's "Grab an Arab" line, and then did an impersonation of Limbaugh comparing the abuse to a "Skull & Bones hazing".

- Coulter repeatedly responded to hecklers by saying the words "Senator Norm Coleman", apparently to try and claim that Liberals are always rude and that cost them the Wellstone/Coleman election. She was also trying to bait Franken who earlier had discussed how much Wellstone meant to him.

- Coulter claimed that the lootings in Iraq after the war were no big deal because "it was only pottery". Of course it was more like ancient priceless relics of mankind.

- Franken had brought a backpack to the stage, and occasionally would pull out Ann Coulter's books and start reading out lies from them or outrageous quotes.

In my favorite moment, not because it was funny but so true, Franken responded to one of Coulter's claims that Liberals hate America. Franken pointed out his numerous visits to the troops. Then he stated how the soldiers are mostly his son's age. Then he mentioned how Paul Wolfowitz couldn't even be bothered to know how many US servicemen had died. Franken really went off saying that it was disgraceful and showed how little they care about these kids. Franken then pointed out how he had flown over the Sunni triangle even though he knew how dangerous it was because he loves seeing the kids (troops). Then he added how his wife had mentioned that Bill O'Reilly never went and saw the troops, but he had to point out to her that Bill O'Reilly wasn't talented enough anyways. (This drew some more laughs)

- They accepted questions to be submitted on index cards, but none of the questions used were all that good. One man proposed to Ann and Franken said, "Let's see this guy. Can he stand up"? Franken also cornered Ann about lying about her age on her drivers license, and Coulter refused to answer what her true age was.

.....where you are proud to be a Democrat. Not only proud, but it makes you proud of who you are. When COutler ever said that the trashing and looting of ancient relics is no big deal, you knew we were dealign with an absolute pig and reprehensible person.

Coulter is soooooo full of it and she can't stand up in the light of true facts.... She is a snake and used to having people cover for her, as she slithers away after she lays a lot of mean crap on the record.....She tries to shock and lie but against Al Franken she is FRIED.... He doesn't get shocked easily and he Knows WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT.....Most of the people she is used to snowing don't have the facts and a quick wit ..... and this destroys her type of snaky crap......Frankin KILLS - I love him.....
