Help me defend Clinton...
A friend of mine was listening to me talk about moveon.org the other day, and said something to the effect of "if clinton had been the CEO of a company, or the commander of a military unit, he would have been fired the second he admitted to getting a bj from someone working under him".

and i sat there, and tried to think of something clever like "Bush lied, people died", but he isn't a Bush supporter, so it wouldn't have mattered. he just said it like it was an observation.

so how would you respond to a remark like that?

1. only if the woman was forced to perform to keep her job
and brought a harassment suit. Consensual sex in the workplace is overlooked all the time in spite of "regs" against it.

2. Do you absolutely have to respond?
It is the truth. As Jon Stewart said yesterday, people get fired for just being late. Getting the company into potential sexual harassment lawsuits is a lot worse.

3. Clenis?
Clenis is that you?

That's what I'd say. I'd ask why my friend is so obsessed with Clinton's throbbing cock.

4. honestly, Clinton doesn't need help defending himself
this guy sounds like he live in some kind of fantasy world if he doesn't think powerful men are not gettin side action ALL THE TIME.

CEO's are judged on one thing alone: results, and Clinton produced those in spades.

5. I don't know about the CEO part - as for military regs well I can't speak
to that either - ask your friend for proof of this...I think consensual sexual activity happens between consenting adults who work together all the fuckin' time...

8. I agree
A CEO's biggest worry if he gets caught with his pants down on the job is whether or not the trophy wife is going to divorce his philandering ass and take her half of the community property. Think Rudolph Guliani.

6. I'd say
"Pull your head out.

CEO's don't have affairs with subordinates? What kind of fantasy world do you live in? Clearly, you've never worked within yelling distance of a CEO. And since you think politicians should abide by US military guidelines, then you must be all for Bush being disciplined for his failure to complete his ANG duty."

And then I'd make a bunch of ad hominem attacks on his intelligence, hygiene and taste in music. ;)

7. He's not a Bush supporter, so why do you care so much about what
he thinks about Clinton getting a bj or Clinton in general? Lots of people don't like Clinton (myself included)-- it doesn't mean we have to agree on Clinton to be on the same side of the fence (more or less) when it comes to opposing Bush and the conservatives on most, if not all, issues. I honestly don't understand this liberal hero-worship of Clinton. Focus on the issues with your friend, not on your respective preferences for political figures.

12. Was Clinton not liberal enough for you, bigbillhaywood?
Or is there another reason why you don't like him?

10. Imagine Shrub doing something like this
Edited on Fri May-14-04 01:20 AM by No2W2004
(from Clarke's book)

TWA 800 blew up in NYC. The news had pictures of upset family members gathering in NY. Clinton saw this and, even though he was already scheduled to fly to Atlanta for the Olympics, changed it so he could talk with the families. He went before them and expressed his sorrow from a podium. Then, we walked down and joined them, listening to them, praying with them, trying to comfort them.

EDIT: Please, like Clinton was the only president to get "favors" done while in office. The list of naughty presidents is very long.
