May 12, 2004 -- SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA (apj.us) -- By now, we've all heard the story.

A group claiming affiliation with Al Qaeda captured an American named Nick Berg, who had been looking for contract work in Iraq.

They then videotaped his beheading, claiming that it was revenge for the sickening torture of Iraqis at Abu Ghraib and other US-run prisons.

2. Buzzflash is headlining a similar story

not that the Freepers killed him, but there is a lot of suspicous detail to the "official" story. I've already heard on MSNBC two statements made by the FBI and the State Department regarding Berg. I get cynical when this government releases things quickly....

6. Interesting that freepers may have been involved in Berg being chosen

to be a victim of murder. That type of role is every freeper's fantasy.

I also find it interesting that freepers seem particularly outraged at the method of Berg's murder, yet there is abundant evidence that if his kidnappers had used a bulldozer to kill him freepers would have climaxed from glee.

9. They can't seem to make the connection

I was reading their posts on this strange story, and they cannot figure out how anyone could figure out the son's name from the father's name. However, the father's name was posted with the COMPANY name, which was the same company the son ran and was working on behalf of. Their whole "enemies" list (which seems to comprise people who attended or supported an anti-war rally in March of this year) was forwarded off to people who could supposedly take action. Maybe for once they weren't just bluster.

10. Has anyone figured out exact;y who has to wear orange jumpers?

in which prisons? controlled by which group of people?

How can anyone make sense of who did what to whom? Isn't the U.S. running all the prisons? Why does the name of the FBI keep coming up as operatives in Iraq? What they appear to be doing is more than forensics.

Why is it so easy to believe he may have simply been yanked out of prison at an opportune time and it was more than convenient that he was Jewish.

We have to learn which jail he was in and who escorted him out and when.

Everyone is correct in questioning every aspect of this.

There's got to be some pix online somewhere of people in the US jails...I do think a lot of jails/prisons in the US do use orange..There's a lot more to this story..Also, why did the feds go back to question the family twice? They must've been given some info on Berg..How long has the list been on freepsville? They had to hack a site to retrieve names..
